Has anyone heard if & when Relugolix will be approved by FDA. I am hoping in December as was once thought
Relugolix: Has anyone heard if & when... - Advanced Prostate...
Relugolix
No - it has not yet been approved. December 20 was Myovant's hopeful date. After that, I'd guess it will be at least 6 months for production and distribution.
Is this the ADT drug that produces much faster T recovery in "vacations?" If so, how does that work, in terms of the mechanism?
TA: Another question, while I'm at it. An oncologist once told me that there was an ADT drug that didn't "cross the brain barrier?" I think it was related to apaludamide. He recommended it for me, if my PCa advances to that point, because ADT causes deep depression/suicidality in me. Do you know what he was talking about?
It's a GnRH agonist, like Firmagon, in a pill form. Because it is a pill, it starts working immediately and stops working very quickly at the end of therapy. The side effects (hot flashes, fatigue, diarrhea, and cataracts) seem to be higher with the pills. I haven't seen any comparative results on long-term body changes (bone density loss, lean muscle loss, and fat accumulation).
