I've been so busy...we've sold our "extra" house next door to where my partner and I live (prices went up and we just felt it was time)...and I hand-picked our new neighbor who we love. So we had a million (not exaggerating) things to move into our already filled (think HORDER on steroids) house. And we also rented a warehouse ...just 10 X 20. We have an online Antiques/Modernism store..so we're not just HORDERS, but HORDERS with a purpose...This has consumed me...the new owner has given us 60 days to move out....so we're slowly everyday moving things one place or the other.
My energy and strength are limited, but sometimes limitless. We're getting the job done! My PSA went up just a little bit more as it's been slowly rising since it dipped real low after radiation for 3 mets. Now, however on my Axumin Petscan the bone met I had is gone (weee...gone) and the two mets in lymph are less than 1/2 their previous size. Doctor says this is a GOOD result...just going to be staying the course with Lupron and Xtandi...and I get to drop the Xgeva...ALREADY after two months off my bone pain is almost completely gone.
She's mentioned "ball removal" and I'm thinking about it. She says it would be easier on me than Lupron...that a lot of guys have less hot flashes when they just have the "balls" removed....rather than the shots. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated from guys who have done it. I was going to ask about plastic ones...to fill up the missing sack.
All in all...it's been a very productive summer, but I miss our 4 to 5 week holiday to get out of the HOT HOT HOT South Florida SUMMER. I SHOULD be in Maine right now....or Siberia...or even Alaska. I do NOT love the heat...
Lunch was delicious...chicken breast in a creamy white sauce with mushrooms, onions, chipotle...sweet peas and parmesan cheese. Butter and heavy cream to make it orgasmic. Thank you Jesus for my appetite and my still having a great sense of taste and still loving to cook and eat ! ! !

Hi John, My husband had an orchiectomy 2-3 years ago and still experiences hot flashes. I asked about the estradiol patch from his pCa MO and was told NO.
We tried to take a 3 month trip to Minnesota as we had been having such great summers there. We did not anticipate the chaos there from the George Floyd killing.
Then my husband’s comorbidities crept up on us probably from lack of medical monitoring due to virus lockdown. Telehealth isn’t the same.
We wasted a lot of money and time getting there and cutting the trip short. It was a wake up call for us with my anxiety of seeing him go downhill and also from fear of the virus.
Hoping we and you are better able to vacation next year.
Thanks for you input....I think everyone is different with regards to the hot flashes...I'm ALWAYS hot and always was...before the Cancer thing. Thus, I dream of cold climates in the summer (and winters lately)....Hope your husband's doing better.

P.S. Do NOT show up one day at your local Vet's office dressed in a dog suit and have your partner ask for you to be neutered and have a nice set of pet "Neuticles" installed. Yes, it may cost only 1/10th of the comparable medical procedure in humans, and only take around 15 minutes, but Neuticles are not FDA approved for humans, and any licensed animal Vet is not allowed to do it for humans.
P.P.S. Playing around with a pair of the infamous "Truck Nuts" on a thong might be pretty harmless. Lots of possibilities! Ha. Ha.
my oncologist DID say she could see to it that I had a cone to wear (like my puppy had when he had his removed)
If you go forward with a "ball removal", have them replaced with two 8 balls. That way you can walk in a pool hall, place them on a table and shake the building to it's foundation. The food looks great, where is the dog? Come on, let's get on the ball.
Hello greatjohn, I don't know if you avoid it for health reasons, but some diced prosciutto also works well in a mushroom cream sauce......(did something similar with some ravioli recently)

That looks like whole grain pasta. Have you tried the Seggiano pasta? The Seggiano sauce? The pasta and sauce are organic and the pasta is dried as it would be by a housewife in Italy! It is rolled in little "wheels". Not organic but incredible--Seggianos, roasted and marinated artichoke hearts! I ate the entire jar the first time I had them. Some salt, a bit of ground pepper and I slowly chewed each bite to savor the experience. I looked at the plate when done. It had the residual marinate on it and the jar had quite a bit remaining. I boiled some Seggiano linguine and found a use for the marinate. I added just a bit of Seggiano's pesto. There was no way that the marinate was going down the drain when the dish was being washed!

I decided after about 6 months of taking the fenben that it wasn't appearing to work. So I stopped. As for the Cholera vaccine...never tried. I'm coasting along kinda okay...with scans looking good...so I'm taking as little as possible. My oncologist says if the Xtandi doesn't keep working she's got some ideas for studies at University of Miami that might fit my needs. I'm thinking of the ball removal to drop the Lupron. Already was told I could stop the Xgeva...so it's now only Lupron and Xtandi. (Both suck)...but adding on to them makes life even more hard.
Same, Xtandi and lupron I'm almost 8 years out. I take the full Monty on the Xtandi. I've been on that 5.5 years. I've got numb feet, fatigue, sore joints but I'm still around. I take zyflamend, NAC ARTIMINISIN, RESVERSTOL AND Q-10. My PSA is .02 to .04 depending on the lab. I also take lipitor, celebrex, desipramine , Wellbutrin and Prozac for depression. It beats kicking the bucket 67 years old now.
