Zytiga side effects

Dx Jan 2016, PSA 20, Gleason 4+5 , 2 bone mets. Most recent scans 1 Bone met and no visible mets to lymph nodes or organs Until 2 months ago my only treatment was ADT (decapeptyl) which worked well for 3 years but PSA rose over a year or so from 0.2 to 25 although scans last year showed no mets. I have now been on Zytiga + predinisone for 2 months. after 3 weeks bloods showed PSA down from 25 to 16 and liver numbers OK. T 0.1 ng/ml ( Is this the same measurement used in the States?) Next appointment end July

No serious side effects and general health good. My question is this . Will side effects show more or less immediately or can they develop over time? I can hardly believe my luck that so far it has gone so well. Should I expect my luck to change?

I read this site every day and have learned so much from it. My thanks to all of you who contribute so much of your time and knowledge

Adding zytiga (abiraterone acetate) and prednisone resulted in zero additional side effects for me over ADT ( lupron) alone.

Likewise for me. No obvious side effects.

I thought zytiga was easy except for night sweats, but a 3 months I developed high blood pressure, and quit at 5 months and stayed on Lupron only. So watch out for hypertension.

My name is John ( yes, really) and I am .... an advanced prostate cancer sufferer. there you are I've admitted it!! But taking that in to account I feel good. In fact a couple of weeks ago a friend asked me how I was feeling and I said' Jim, I feel omnipotent '. Don't know where that came from it was just a quick reply to a friend , no thought process behind it. Anyway I hope all is well with you apart from the obvious.

I'll leave you with this thought: Why does a Scottish bagpiper walk when he is playing - to get away from the noise.

Hello John.... Well it doesn't take me a ton of bricks to NOW figure out the MAC/SCOT.

So what's worse than you being tortured listiening to the pipes?

Me being tortured listening to the pipes...
