Hi all! My father will receive Medicare starting August and is currently on Erleada. The drug costs are astronomical and getting a Medicare replacement isn’t feasible due to networks/availability of physicians in his area. Any advice/guidance on how to make Erleada or any of the related drugs more affordable on Part D?

You can enter your location and other info and data about the drugs you are considering, and use this USA Medicare.gov link as a starter to compare Part D plans coverages/costs.

If you go to the websites of the makers of each of these drugs, they have Patient Assistance programs which might help in some cases. For the drug Xtandi, e.g., an exploration of those pages & telephone support numbers could eventually lead to a request/eligibility form such as this, which could be submitted with the help of the prescribing physician.

Also, if your father might be a military veteran, he might be eligible to receive prostate cancer Oncological care and these types of drugs at relatively lower costs via the Veterans Health Administration. If so, an exploration could start here:
Try the Patient Access Network. They can help with costs if your father qualities.
We asked pharmacist at Walgreens and they found an organization which paid 100%, good luck!
