Hi Ron,
This is excellent news, not only is it a novel treatment, it is not affected by splicing or mutations in the receptor. Hope that the results of the Phase 3 trial reinforce its potential.
I agree, this is a big story. The potential is enormous, once they escalate the dose in Phase 3 and the ability for this treatment to destroy the receptor (Zytiga, Xtandi etc were only trying to block it). It may be 5 years away but the PROTAC technology is groundbreaking. Follow this with AMGEN's Bite technology and there must be endless possibilities. Now we just have to hang on for 5 years
The findings point to a significant new approach to solving a troublesome reality, in terms of how various cellular functions (and the identified sub-components) impact the growth of cells in normal and abnormal reproduction.
This likely applies to other cancers as well (hopefully).
In this case, killing the messenger seems to be the way to move forward.
It's another great result from all the research that has been going on.
I know that this is something I personally celebrate because it offers real hope that this disease can be managed better, as opposed to running out of runway as the last chances started to evaporate.
I also see the potential for more quality TIME left to spend with our loved ones.
Let's pray that there is more good news around the corner for the many that are facing some grimmer realities.
Name / Number of the Arvinas Trial ??
