Seeking opinions about Protocel.

Protocel. Anyone know whether this stuff is snake oil or not?

I have a friend with more advanced pc than me. None of the SOC treatments are working for him, and he plans to try protocel. It has a bunch of other names and has been around for decades. It has never been through any clinical trials. Seems to be a mix of harmless chemicals which, while they don’t hurt you, require that you stop other treatments. That is the part that worries me. He has a book about it called “Outsmarting Your Cancer” by Tanya Pierce as well as lots of anecdotal evidence for its efficacy.

Looks like snake oil to me, but what about all the testimonials and anecdotal evidence?

If it worked, we would know.

With 3 million men in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with PCa, we would have heard some buzz about a useful product that has been around for 80 years.

IMO, beware of any product that claims to be effective against any cancer.

Thanks Tall Allen. I admire your ability to find, and stick to, the science. My fiend who is seeking a silver bullet is desperate, grasping at straws. I don’t want to discourage him too much because the SOC is not working for him.

IMO, snake oil. BTW, the only supplements that I am allowed are through the approval of the research MO. He did not want anything eff3cting his trial or treatment. Your friend really to have a heart to heart with his MO.

I tried it for a year, many years ago, and did not see any obvious effect.
