On Manday 03/16/2020 I had a GA 68 PSMA PET scan done at UCLA. Today I did a blood count test and noticed a drop in my Platelet Count from over 150 k to 120 k. Is this drop due to the PSMA PET scan? In general, what are the side effects of the PSMA PET scan? Thanks

Thank you TA for the response. My concern is not about the scan rather about the radioactive tracer they injected me with before the scan. Does the radioactive tracer cause the blood Platelet count to drop?
When I applied to participate in the UCLA PSMA PET scan clinical trial in early February, the wait time was 8 weeks. Subsequently, they advanced my appointment to 3/16. You can call them at (310) 206-7372 and check the availability.
I had the Ge68 PSMA test about 9 months ago and I did not suffer any side effects, so I don't think your drop in platelet count has anything to do with it, but does need an explanation.
I can tell you a simple way of increasing your platelet count. Take a large leaf of Papaya tree ,cut leaf into very small pieces..boil these pieces with half glass of water, strain it and once cool, drink this leaf extract, If you do it daily for 5 days ,your platelet count will come back to normal range, Once I tried it...results were impressive. Its a well known Ayurvedic treatment in India for raising platelets in blood.
If you live in southern USA, papaya grows everywhere in tropical climate. If you live in Northern part of USA, you will have to search if there are online sellers. I have 2 trees in
