My results from latest scan shows " Focal areas of increased radiotracer uptake in right iliac and right femoral lesions within otherwise overall decreased areas of radiotracer." So what does this have to do with mice? When I was first diagnosed Sept 2018 Gleason 10 my MO described cancer as different color of mice. We nailed the gray mice hard with early chemo, hit the brown mice good with the Talapro2 clinical study, and have kept the white mice in check with Lupron every 3 months. But now the gray mice are popping out. Not sure if I will be in study much longer. Its when we get to the multi color mice that things get real dicey. I'll be in to MO tomorrow and we discuss the next thing to do. Went 6 months while on study with decreased progression. I think I'll hang around a while and see what other mice I have, but it sounds like I need a cat...

It sounds to my amateur ears like your tumor shrank but has increased uptake in its new, smaller, more convenient size. Is it possible it's bone healing? Are there any symptoms or blood results to confirm progression?
My mice recently turned into chipmunks. My MO had to add hawks to my treatment regimen. I'm loving the analogy if you couldn't tell.
I'll have blood work tomorrow to confirm what is happening. In the meantime I'm reading up on pest control and how to handle raccoons should it becomes necessary LOL.
It was confirmed that the uptake increase is due to healing. So I stay on the trial for a while. PSA did go from 1.2
to 2.5 so progressively climbing. My MO is loading up more mousetraps and we talked about a few new studies just down the pike. He is optimistic about my results and where we are headed.
We also discussed the high price of toilet paper, if found, and how he will be accepting payment in hand sanitizer.
Sounds to me like you have been executing on a good plan. Is second-line ADT like Zytiga or Xtandi next for you? After that a second chemo challenge with Jevtana, perhaps?
On Xtandi with talazoparib study now. It's doing well with the exception of beating back PSA. But I am happy with the results and hope what the study brings is another tool in the toolbox for all of us.
Shades of “Willard “ or “Ben” if you remember those horror shows from the 70’s like I do . Seriously , we are fighting for our life and quality of life. I used that “The plans of mice or men” when I got dx at 53 . Not what we had planned for our golden years ? Over optimism was my thinking error . We know better now. Apc is a fickle bitch . Address it directly until you push it down again . We all live with this scenario . You will deal with it . Aloha808
And Mahalo for your kind words. Yep, this is a different journey than planned for my later years. But I'm doing good, feeling good, and smelling the roses from above ground.
Oh how I remember Ben and Willard. Still hum the theme song to Ben whenever I see a mouse or hear about them from my MO. My wife just thinks it creepy. I enjoy the analogy. Bet your enjoying the pines in Prescott !
Thats it! “Ben , the two of us don’t live no more” Michael Jackson sang it . My wife thinks me a barbarian ... join the club ..and she’s right . I’m a newlywed of five years with apc this Friday the 13th .If you you get any giant pink rats call me and I’ll be right there to help. Mahalo...🐀🐀🐀
When I've told my dental patients about my #stageivpca Tx's - I said that I had 15 tenting and fumigations of my body and I may have to re-fumigate cux dem bugs(mice) are back
