Black Raspberries as a health food for cancer recovery

I really enjoyed this interview of the owner of a Black Raspberry Company. Steve Dunfield is a smart guy. I have not seen a lot on the internet about black raspberries and health issues. I found the Neuro-endocrine cancer research very interesting. Although I imagine it is focused on other types of neuro-endocrine tumors.. I have decided to add this to my husbands protocol and throw some in his smoothies.

his company is Berrihealth dot com.

hugs and prayers to you all

Dark chocolate covered ones sound yummy. My sweetie got me some chocolate covered raspberries and blueberries for valentines day. They were so yummy. Fresh ones too! Have a great day.

Thanks for the video. Although the information re black raspberries is several years old, the interview brings out several interesting points. The importance of whole foods vs capsules. Although the ancient Chinese used "pills" most of their medications were decocted. Plants were boiled in clay pots, sometimes for hours, which produced a very concentrated extract. One would sip or drink the decoction several times a day. In the video clip, the interviewee suggests that a large batch (32 ounces) be made up and kept in the refrigerator so that one could sip the mixture throughout the day. However, the real problem with using products such as freeze-dried fruit and vegetables is that to achieve a clinical concentration would require 20 servings (teaspoons) per day which would, in turn, require one-hundred gram pouch, or $24.95 a day x 30=748,50 a month. This would be for a serious health issue, but that is what most of us on this site have! Of course, one wouldn't be dependent only on black raspberries, but this kind of therapy can be very expensive (not that drugs aren't). I guess what needs to be done is to work up some kind of regimen in which everything works together synergistically.

I agree with what you say. I think it is hard for researchers to get funding to test things like black raspberries and whatnot. One of the coaches for the Square One Program, Theo Hansen has had luck with a synergistic protocol but he stresses that it is not just food that heals.. thevidacenter.com is the web site- it is called the vida protocol. Click on the about tab to download it.

A sense of community is very important to healing. Not related to cancer healing but healing in general, The older folks from Chernobyl that returned to their homes where there is high radioactivity actually have a slightly longer life expectancy than the ones who did not. We have been watching the show on HBO and learned this fact(not from HBO) I found it interesting.. happiness is healing. (Disclaimer: I read this on the web and I know how inaccurate the web can be.. but I hope it is true)

Good Health!

I recently found an article about a supplement that is an extract of berries (anthocyanidin). The article is from a bodybuilding site that I used to read back in my trying to be a muscle head days. These days I visit the site for exercise ideas. The article mentions cancer prevention and does not specifically mention prostate cancer. [No one is saying this is a cure, so put your guillotines away]

The interesting thing in this article is that berries rev up AMPK. I don't plan to take this supplement, there are other ways to ramp up AMPK like EGCG, Quercetin, Berberine, Curcumin, Fish Oil, Reishi, CoQ10, exercise. I also enjoy berries with breakfast everyday.
