PSA .006 after surgery and radiation to bed and nodes

After surgery, I was started on Lupron for a PSA of 0.1. PSA went to 0.006.

I had radiation to bed and nodes. Off lupron 3 1/2 months, PSA still 0.006. Where is the PSA coming from?

That is undetectable PSA. Congratulations!

How high is your testosterone? The evolution of the PSA with a testosterone over 50 will tell if the cancer was eradicated and there is not evidence of disease. Many patients still have a testosterone at castration levels 3 1/2 months after stopping Lupron.

Best of luck!!!

That’s great . Undetectable ! I’ve been there over four years . Keep that castration train rolling .? Scott

Yes I hear you on getting 'transfixed on the 3rd decimal.' I've been 0.01 and 0.02 1 year after an RP for G3+4 T2.

Someone here sent me a 2017 study on here that basically says 93 percent of those with PSA value 0.03 or higher will have BCR within 44 months and that PSA was the most significant prognostic factor.

Not the stuff I like to read but also know it is just a study.

Nonetheless, this site is informative.

Thanks again!

I have had a number of people agree that, independent of the lab or assay used, there can be slight PSA fluctuations, especially at Zero levels. I have yet to read this occurence as being statistically significant or otherwise on any website, blog or professional journal.

Your thoughts, if any, on this, please

Thanks as always!
