Hey T Allen perhaps you can answer this question? If you have negative or clear margins, is there less likely hood that the cancer can come back even though in penetrated the prostate on the outer edge?
Either you are cured now or the PSA value rises slowly and you will have to get a salvage radiation when it reaches 0.2 or 0.4 ng/ml. A gleason 3+4 is not high risk, so I would wait and observe the PSA value instead of having immediate radiation, which your doctors may suggest.
Besides lower Gleason and absence of mets, you have anothr positive factor..and that is your little tumor;s location...posterolateral tumors do not press on bladder neck, urethra or rectum etc as they grow sideways. They have to become very big before they can press on important nearby structures.
You need to aim for cure. Besides high tech treatments, add Anti inflammatory foods, herbs, spices, regular physical activity (walk), meditation etc, Wishing for a cure for you.
I had single port robotic surgery on Oct 4, 2019. Post op report......tumor restricted to prostate, lymph nodes neg, Gleason 7 (4 +3), grade group 3, pattern 4 substitutes about 80% of tumor, pT2. I had a PSA done 5 weeks post op and was 0.01. Have the next draw scheduled for mid Feb which will be 4+ months post op. Hopefully that result will be good....time will tell. pT2 and pT3a supposedly have a 98% survival after 10 years.
I had an EPE and a positive margin in my pathology report after RP. I started ART 3 months after RP based on these findings. RP - Oct 2018 and still undetectable. You can read my pathology report... in my 1 post.
