I’m a pharmacist and I work in a cancer center preparing chemo...Today I found this poet by an oncology technician , Carol Kudhail. It’s worthy to share with you ,brave fighters!
“Today I prepared chemo
just like I always do:
Precisely & filled with Love,
and then I noticed it was for You. .
My eyes welled up, I'm weeping,
My heart sank into my toes.
I don't understand how You got here.
This is not the path You chose. .
But Cancer looks past no one
It does not discriminate.
It stomps right on Your plans
and in one breath can change Your fate. .
I determine that You are not Your diagnosis
all Our futures are unknown.
Please know that when you fight this fight
no One fights alone.
.
I am working in the background
blending into the crowd
Screaming "Fuck you, Cancer"
silently but oh so loud!
.
Even though you don't see me,
to You I may not even have a name,
know in the corner I am here
fighting on your side in this war game. .
So as I finish up your chemo
And I label it just so
I look up at God and tell Him
I feel it's not your time yet to go.
.
Although there are days I wish I didn't do this,
Didn't see you in my chair
I believe I was put on this Earth
to provide this profound care.”
