You know, Tumor, I think I'd like to write about you.

PLEASE DON'T.

Why not?

BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS TO KNOW ABOUT ME.

Yeah, but it's a human experience and I just thought --

STOP THINKING. THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM IN A NUTSHELL.

But what if I gave some person somewhere hope!

IS THAT YOUR ACTUAL INTENTION?

No, not really. But wouldn't I seem heroic, dealing in a straightforward way with you?

WHAT HAVE YOU GOT AGAINST ME? WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO YOU?

Well, I'm fighting you. You know, put 'em up!

IF YOU WANT TO SLUG YOURSELF, HAVE AT IT.

Well, a journal then, tracing my growth and insights during this challenging time.

YEAH, NOBODY'S EVER DONE THAT BEFORE.

But it would give me pleasure and comfort to be engaged in something creative.

BE HONEST. YOU ONLY WRITE ABOUT YOURSELF.

Yes, but, I'm the thing I know best. I want to tell that unique story!

LISTEN, IT'S FUN FOR YOU, BUT I HAVE TO LISTEN TO IT THE WHOLE GODDAMN DAY.

Then let me say this to you. Having you grow inside me has led to some interesting thoughts!

LIKE WHAT?

Like “Carrying a tumor inside oneself is like carrying a child!” It takes a certain amount of time, it obtains nourishment from you, and it keeps getting bigger and bigger.

YOU ARE AWARE THAT YOU ARE NOT CREATING LIFE, RIGHT?

Tumor, don’t you think I know that! Give me credit for that much! And please explain to me why you must always be so negative?

BECAUSE I AM NOT YOUR MUSE

Problem for me is, the last thing I want to do, really, is write tumor comedy. But thanks very much for the affirmation. I sure didn't want to offend people.

Howdy Cisco99. I've had advanced prostate cancer for 6 years and have been lucky to be here so long, with the treatments I've had so far. Anyway, I've recently had a recurrence of a rare melanoma after 14 years, manifesting itself as an easily visible "lump" on the side of my neck. I'll be having a surgery this month to remove as much of the new tumor as possible, etc.

Just thought I'd share that in recent support groups and other social settings I've been able lately to get a lot of "tumor humor" mileage out of phrases like, "Does anybody want to feel my lump?" It frequently has created laughter, helped to defuse anxieties, increased empathy and social closeness, and has seemed to help both me and others.

I still don't want to feel your lump! Hope they can pick it all out.

I had one removed from my neck which metastasized to my lung. (so be wary). I'm fighting it with Keytruda and so far it's working,

all Of us croakers here face the Debbie-downer facts of life every hour of every day. Most of us just hanging on as long as humanly possible, clearly realizing there is no cure for us. It can be pretty sobering and be very depressing at times too.

All of us can benefit from a bit of humor now and then to break the tension and lighten things up. There is no positive benefit in any of us sitting around wringing our hands and feeling sorry for ourselves... it is what it is ... get over it and commence to gathering our families and living our remaining time as good times - upbeat as possible. We don’t need the Debbie downer trip and none of us want our loved ones to see it either. Throwing in some humor for your brothers here is a good thing .... all of us seriously need and ( should ) want that.

Keep on keeping on brother ..

It’s all good.

So ....My doctor told me I was riddled with tumors ... my tumors had tumors ....

“ What ....I said !! I don’t want no dang tumors “

The doctor sad , OK and gave me some pills ....

Now all my tumors are threemors..... nolo problemo !!!

Peace Brother ✌️

So, if ADT works, my tumor will shrink and become a unimor, then hopefully continue shrinking until it is a nomor :-)

Newbie Question -- I perceive that I am now a Croak-a Doser. Where does that word come from? I've turned it upside down eleven times and am not figuring it out. I know what croak means, and what a dose is. But I'm guessing it has nothing to do with that.

Kaliber profile image
Kaliber in reply toCisco99

Yayahahahaya. Well .... croakadosis is a play on words that , if google is any reference, that I have evidently coined / invented. Croak has been a slang word for “ die “ ( for a long time ) and “ dosis “ is as in “ diagnosis “ .... croak-a-dosis . Diagnosis of death. Transparent or semi-transparent frogs have been used in cancer research as well. Frog’s calls are called croaks .... dose of medicine.... a lot of interrelated related word play. Kinda a more lighthearted way to convey diagnosis of terminal stage 4 metastatic illness or things related to that.

They say that laughter is the best medicine .... that being so, you are a world renowned healer my friend.

I’m a couple days into my monthly Zometa infusion and not my perky best , gonna take couple more days for this crazy train to ride on by. It’s like the old joke of why are you hitting yourself with that hammer .... because it feels so good when I quit yayahahahaya. Feels like they are using the nail puller side this time. Yee haw ...

Backatcha brother .... ✌️

Well I'm sorry you're going through (as the women used to say) "your friend"... Keep your chin up and your tits low..... I think the claw side of a hammer is better than a chainsaw.... I'm just a sayin...

From the internet, just for you:

I keep saying "cheer up man it could be worse, you could be stuck underground in a hole full of water."

You know I mean well.

Keep smiling Bro.....
