I’ve spent the morning browsing posts here and I felt compelled to share a feeling that I have about this community. It is a refuge, populated by wise and generous spirits, sharing their time and love with strangers and friends they’ve yet to meet.

Having stage 4 has taught me what is important and I'm sure that goes for the others here. We also know and understand what other people are going through so we can offer support from the "inside".
It’s a humbling disease. One only understands it fully when one has walked in these shoes.

A great post! I've become way more engaging, friendly, optimistic, and interactive post #stageivpca dx in 01/2015. A week after my son/his wife and I did the Sarria to Santiago Camino (The Way) in Spain - 112km (69.65 miles). He asked my wife " when did Dad become so talkative?" 
I've said to my dental patients about my Camino (journey) that I feel that the web can be such a sewer, but also there are online forums such as this one that has connected world wide PCa victims and or/ family. Where we celebrate success and, unfortunately, mourn the loss of our "Brothers"
If you check my previous posts, most have been positive about things I've done etc and not much of a downer. Wanna post as much positivity as I can
I've also become more proactive about getting squeamish men to get screened via a back bib sign on my back at marathons.
Life is still beautiful even with PCa.

I probably speak for many, when I say— You have been such an inspiration In sharing your path here. It’s hard to imagine that the old you (the You before PC related enlightenment) was going about life quietly...
I find myself interjecting the “male cancer” elevator speech wherever I can. Your races with you decked out in your PC educational regalia are a constant reminder that the way forward is to take what we know and share it to prevent the unnecessary suffering of others. A focus on helping others creates a purpose for this suffering.
Thank you. I and my colleagues at Malecare work very hard to make our communities helpful and welcoming. Posts like yours give us the energy to continue.

Great post. I suspect there are a lot of guys like me that would never be caught dead in a support group. Seems to touchy feely. But coming here is that support group. I visit every night. Thx all for your contributions.

Share your prostate cancer story (ideally by placing it in your profile here). Most (not all) people here have metastatic prostate cancer. That is to say, a cancer, that is Not, based on current available treatments, likely to be cured.
And visit as often As you feel compelled to. Respond where you have something useful to add. Some people are not comfortable coming out with their stories. I personally think that finding words to express our troubles helps us to move through them. Welcome!

Yes, thank you very much! That is my precious Annabelle, one of my gazillion rescue animals. She just turned 18 human years in October 2019! I guess I'm doing something right! 🤔😉
Her twin brother, Rex, went to the bridge a year ago, our Molly left in July 2018, and our beloved Dachshund, Odie, unexpectedly had to be pts after a shocking cancer diagnosis.
It was especially hard for my dear husband (the reason for my presence here) because Odie was his sidekick! And this all happened right after my husband's diagnosis. And you know that Dachshund personality! ♥️

I confirm that I am one of so many invisible persons that treasure your posts... sadly I have no knowledge to offer your community as, you might think it strange, my partner from day one decided that his oncologist was in charge and never asked any questions concentrating on living his life fully ...
He is 54 and has been diagnosed with bone metastases 3 years ago., Done Taxoderm ,radiotherapy and ADT and undergone angioplasty and hip replacement in France ... indipendently and with the help from your informations I was organising to get him to Germany for PSMA litetium therapy but yesterday they found compression on his spine bone marrow...waiting to see whether they can avoid back op with radiotherapy and other meds...it is a tough road you guys are on but what unbelievably great souls you are. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and sorry for my uninformative lenghty message.

Each and everyone of us has knowledge to share. I hope that the radiotherapy can prevent the need for surgery.
Not a bad thing to focus on life and enjoying each day. Cancer treatment can become an obsession. When we become too focused on illness and things out of our control it can compromise our enjoyment of life.
We are all here together and we will get through whatever is coming as a team!
As the saying goes - pay it forward. That's what this forum is about.
