Booking Health dot com

I reached out to a website called booking health dot com to get information about getting Lu-177 set up for my husband. They reviewed his medical records in less then a day and said he would be a great candidate for Lu-177 and also suggested a bio immunotherapy package for an additional $16000. My husbands case is super complex and I feel like this is some type of scam. How can they say they have reviewed his records (509 pages worth) and deemed him a candidate? When I asked them how they knew he would be a good candidate since his low PSA/ heavy tumor burden could imply he doesn’t produce PSMA the booking agent couldn’t give any answer, just told me I needed to hurry and make a decision. Am I wrong to be skeptical? Does anyone have experience with booking health dot com?

Sounds like a scam.

But I don't know why you think that his low PSA implies low PSMA. My friend is just the opposite - low PSA and high PSMA. One can also have very high PSA and low PSMA, orhigh on both, or low on both. An IHC of the tumor will tell you which.

Hi ,

That’s great to know about the low PSA and high PSMA combo. I asked Mikes doctor if they had done an IHC analysis in his last tumor biopsy and was told they don’t normally do one and that they had not done one. They sent the tumor sample to Duke from UCSF and I’m waiting on the pathology report. Do you think we could ask the doctor to do an IHC?

UCSF doesn't do IHC analysis? I have a hard time believing that. Certainly, ask for it.

What is an IHC?

In the context of prostate cancer, what antigens might it be used to test for?

To decide to do Lu 177 PSMA one has to have a PSMA PET/CT. The scan has to be positive for metastases expressing PSMA. If the SUV (standard uptake values) of the metastases are high the chances are one could be treated with Lu 177 PSMA.

I had Lu 177 PSMA treatment in Germany around October 2016, after a Ga 68 PSMA PET/CT showed metastases with SUV values from 8 to 20. I had a good response to the treatment. They never did a biopsy or IHC studies. They usually proceed according to the results of the PSMA PET/CTs.

There are clinical trials for PSMA PET/CTs:

clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/resu...

Many cancers with large metastatic burden and low PSA could be neuroendocrine or small cell PCs. These cancer could have a low PSMA expression.

I am assuming you want to use Booking Health dot Com to set up an appointment to have a Lutetium treatment in Germany. Why would you do that? Book your own flights and train travel. The German doctors and most of the nurses speak English. Put Google Translate on your phone.

UCSF clinical trial with Dr. Thomas Hope is scheduling Ga-PSMA Pet/CTs in December for patients that qualify. Call Ravin Smith at 415-353-9448. Get er Done! 😸

Thanks Fanger1 but no one will accept Mike because they incidentally found a secondary cancer in his liver. The cancer was localized and treated but no clinical trials will touch him.

UCSF accepted me for a G68 scan and just three hours later wrote back to say they were indefinitely delayed. Super disappointed of course. This was on Oct 30th. I’ve given up on them.

I heard UCSF had a breakdown of the equipment and they're awaiting parts and chemicals from Germany.

Hi, I just finished my third trip to the University of Heidelberg. Did LU-177 and AC-225.Psa before third trip is down to 22. The doctors would like to have a second PSMA scan to see how the cancer mass in the lymph nodes is reduced. Would like me to do scan to see if I need to return for further treatment.I still have a prostate and the University of Michigan has denied the test stating I do not qualify FDA says no. Psa should go to zero. Takes 6 weeks for a good test. Does any one know where I might go for the PSMA scan. If I do not do scan here I will have to fly to Germany for the scan and may not need further treatment Scan cost there is $ 1000. Waste of money and time to fly to Germany and told no further treatments needed.Uof M wanted $5000 before they realized I did not qualify Thanks

I don't believe you can know if you are a good candidate for lu177 without a psma scan.

I also believe that if someone knows what they are doing, 500 pages isn't that much.

They will skim through it looking for the few bits of information they need.

I used booking health on my first trip only because there was no one that responded with phone numbers or directions. Booking health is double the cost vs doing it yourself. Email nucmed.tumortherapy@uks.eu

And ask them for help. This is the clinic at Saarland University Medical Center in Homburg Germany. Their phone number is 49 6841 16 24594. Fly to Frankfurt, rent a car or take 2 regional trains to Homburg. Stay at the Stadt Homburg Hotel which is a 5 minute walk to the clinic. It sounds difficult but it is not

Unfortunately Windsor near London not Ontario but they treat overseas patients no problem and can have pet/ct and therapy within a week by liaising with your oncologist and ensuring you are suitable for therapy

All the best

Go with the information below...People seem to have an intimidation factor many times even in the country....I have had people afraid to even go to Texas for care ...being a angel flight pilot I have set up numerous visits to MD Anderson but many people fear the unknown and the sheer size..It is very easy to get around...Millions travel outside the country and it is really as easy as they lay out below...you will actually enjoy it..embrace the trip and go get the help you need...Remember the bimbo travel agents many used in the old days...???
