Provenge With steroids

Looking at doing Provenge, MO said that in the trials those taking Steroids were excluded. I am on 10 MG prednisone daily for a different problem. A perspective or evidence that would suggest Provenge may not be affected by the steroids?

Prednisone depresses immune response - it's the opposite of what you're trying to achieve with Provenge. What are you taking 10 mg daily prednisone for?

Have sarcoid none malignant tumor inside my spinal cord upper neck region. Unrelated to cancer, have been treated 4+ years with steroids, unfortunately for me I need 10 MG daily to keep under control. An additional complication is MDS (Myelodysplastic syndromes), currently not threatening but causes issues with my platelet count in particular. PC Discovered 25 months ago, stage IV, extensive meds, PSA 147 Gleason 8. treatments Bicalutamide and hormone treatments. Current PSA 0.12 up from 0.07 in four months.

Have very good MO, with ties to the Mayo clinic. For additional feedback have a contract with Mark Moyad at University of Michigan who has reviewed my case, Mark will likely take a week or two to get back to me with his feedback. The other complications clearly affect future treatment options. Have discussed Zytiga, in this instance a decision was made to hold off initially, partly because of the lack of other options.

I think that any risk of autoimmune disease precludes use of Provenge.

Nothing there has anything to do with Provenge.
