Still learning "new tricks"...Stage 4 Cancer...5 Star Ribs...and a little leakage .

I have never made BBQ baby back ribs before....but these came out as good as they look...WHEEEE ! ! ! Happy 4th of July~to all in the U.S.

I have been having (out of the blue) an issue of leakage. I had to start wearing the little pads in my briefs. It happens all day long...and at night I got ahead an put on a full sized depends (I'm a big boy now, pull up)....

I have had no new things show up on scans in my prostate or bladder area...it's been 5 years since Radiation....

Is this normal? I have an appointment for a Urologist tomorrow, but just curious if anyone else had this issue pop up. I twice had an "embedded" infection in my prostate which is very hard to detect....before my cancer diagnosis. I'm thinking (hoping) it might be something like that...and strong antibiotics might do the trick?

p.s. only had 3 ribs each...and took some around to older neighbors. So I used moderation in my delicious splurge. Have 2 ribs each left over...will have them tomorrow for another treat.

Marinated 12+ hours in the refrigerator, then 3 hours on 220 in the oven in the marinade and covered....then 20 minutes on the grill.(appx)

Wow those look good!!! Now that’s livin!

We made ribs today also! So good!

I have a similar problem, but not quite so bad at night...more than once a day, I visit the rest room for the sole purpose of tending to this issue. I’m interested to hear what if anything your doc says. Glad you had a great 4th - we did too!

I also wear the diaper at night. I sleep very deep so I will urinate sometimes. Also wear a pad always for leakage. Doctor gave me a daily pill that was supposed to let me sleep all night and not wake up every 2-3 hours to pee. Helps a little, but no cure. Going to cut back on fluids a few hours before bedtime and see if that helps. No pain and that's good. Your ribs look great. Have a great day.

They are Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 Mg Cap Auro. Take one capsule by mouth daily. This is what I take in the morning. Thinking of taking before I go to bed. I'm not a doctor. They seem to help me all day long.

Hi John, Both my 90 yo Dad and my 76 yo husband have leakage problems so I have become a reluctant informed.

My husband had LRP and was mostly continent for 17 years afterward. Last year he started leaking and we visited several urologists. We were told there are about 15 medications that might improve the condition. He has tried several with no luck. We asked about surgery and due to his age and mental state no surgical enhancements were recommended.

He was given a clamp and uses that sometimes. We travel with a urinal in the car. He has to learn to live with it. You are younger so there might be more available to you (surgically).

My Dad prefers those pads you like and some really good ones are available only on line. They are TENA brand level 3 that hold a lot. They will send out samples as well.

Mary.

I'm just realizing....I told my oncologist last month I saw him about having pain upon sitting in my prostate. He didn't say anything. This last visit...after the leakage started...I said "I NEED to see a Urologist" and told him about the leakage...he gave a referral. It was for today...and I got notified that proper notes from his office had NOT been sent over to my primary care for them to give the referral...so my appointment is off. The combination of pain in prostate .....and this starting....makes me think something is wrong that might be fixable...like an infection, ....but, alas, now I have to wait until I get another appointment and a referral....before I know anything. Time NEVER seems to be "of the essence".

Meanwhile...I'm keeping Depends in business for the time being. Good to know I am being a useful citizen (ha ha ) at least.

thanks for your reply.

Time is important . I had a an infection in my bladder area and became incontinent plus ended up in hospital on iv antibiotics . Had major bacterial infection with abscess . I was on cipro for a month to clear it. Nasty thing. It doesn't sound like what happened to me but nothing to trifle with. Good luck GreatJohn.

hmmm....and I failed to mention that once in the first few days of this new "issue"....my "tampon" had blood in it. I am alive, though....and because of a screw up with the referral with the urologist...I spent the whole afternoon (4 1/2 hours) at the office waiting for a referral to be faxed / emailed from my primary doctor's office...that NEVER showed up...so now at the end of the day I left...with a new appointment scheduled for NEXT Friday. So I'll be alive and dripping for the next week (hopefully). Have a great weekend!

Hi greatjohn,

The ribs sure looks great, enjoy. I sometimes do experience a little leakage even after a toilet visit. I just ignore it and change my undies, of which I carry a few on my person (disposable kind).

Take good care and glad you're having a great time :)
