I started my radiation just in time to get almost 1/2 way through before the lock downs and the push backs on anything not necessary, so I got all 5 weeks finished a couple of weeks ago. Two lymph nodes and one small "superficial" spot on my left pelvic bone.
Today was bloodwork and Xtandi and Xgeva...first ones after the radiation. Two days from now (Thursday) I have my Zoom visit with the oncologist. The last couple of weeks of radiation brought quite a bit of stomach and intestinal discomfort....nausea, diarrhea, pain and fatigue. It continued for the first week after also..but I am feeling pretty much back to how I felt before already now.
A few days ago decided to make a commitment to living ....LOL...five more years...
**I took out my FIRST EVER car loan on a new Honda SUV. I put way over half down as financing still scares me....but I did finance for 60 months ....FIVE YEARS.... a decent amount. It helped that the interest rate was the LOWEST Honda ever gives. I now feel I have an "obligation" to live 5 more years. It's a good feeling plus I have wanted their SUV for the past 2 years. Life really does keep going...I've lost friends to the coronavirus already, and to other things since my Stage 4 journey started....and "I'm still standing". Ediam~~Every day is a miracle.
**Picture is of me at Infusion center about to get Lupron. Had to be a selfie as we are not allowed anyone in the hospital facility with us any longer...so my partner was waiting in the parking lot in the new car...
P.S. as my mantra has always been "you never be too rich or too thin".....I'm proud to announce that I have managed to lose 10 pounds during this(and it was due to me trying not to gain) Most of it AFTER the radiation because they told me NOT to lose during radiation.
Feeling blessed, enjoying staying home & hoping & praying the best for everyone.

Glad to hear from you and that you are doing well. A new car always smells wonderful and 60 months is nothing. Ride in comfort. Hope all labs come back excellent.
having faith and having a spirit of thankfulness are ingredients for a happy life...and I believe happiness is the best medicine. I've weathered so many storms (including those with a life expectancy attached) over the past 40 years that I am amazed every day when I awake. It's VERY hot here in South Florida....even (trying to be) thankful for that....LOL
Enjoy that new ride, greatjohn, and crank up that A/C when you may need it for any hot flashes. (I thought I was doing well a couple of years ago when I boldly renewed a magazine subscription for 3 whole years. Ha. Ha. )
A new car always brings good feelings. I don't what you look like behind your mask, but the rest of you looks pretty darn good. God Bless, good luck John.
That great news GJ! The hell with 5 years, you will end up buying it out and outlive your Honda, which is a hard thing to do. I have a 97 Honda Odysssy with over 200K miles and it still truckin. Stay safe and carry on...
Extended warranty made me laugh. That's what I need ... an extended warranty. Maybe I'll have some fun today and apply for a few Life Insurance Policies. That's gotta be good for a few laughs.
Good job getting thru Rt. I hope that you recover well and benefit from it . I think if I do buy another car it will be my last one.. Now you’re committed to a five year loan you must stay around to pay it off .. 😂Your good spirit will
Looking cool there Brother. So happy for you. I like your style bro of buying a big ticket item and paying it for the next 5 years. Aha... going to try that excuse With my wify and get me a new ride 🤔
Anyways enjoy your new set of wheels and your good lease on your healthy progression. Good to have you back on the chat Bro. Take care and keep us updated ❤️
Great to hear! It bothers me greatly that some cancer patients can't get tests or treatments due to concerns about Covid-19, particularly in areas where it isn't widespread and they're laying off hospital staff. Madness! Meanwhile here in Massachusetts we're 3rd in the nation for Covid-19 and cancer treatment appears to be going on as planned for me and others (albeit with masks and telephone followups and SOs waiting in cars (but can come inside to use the rest room thankfully))
My weight plummeted during radiation, as much food went through me unchanged. It stayed down over a year. Now that I'm in chemo again the weight is coming back on after a brief loss in the first cycle. It makes no sense!
Good Deal.... In your CRV you will notice a small tab near your gear shift lever (hard to see). If you should ever get stuck in gear just flip the tab open and stick a medal object in it (your key. my key anybody's key or just a piece of metal) push down on it (DO NOT TWIST IT) to get out of gear..... You may never have to use it but it's good to know about it....
May your next car be a 2026 Jaguar convertible....used only at night in Florida....
Way to go great John. I m beginning Proton therapy on the 30th. My dx sounds very similar to yours. Thanks so much for your posts you have been an inspiration. Love the hat. God Bless
