Is anyone out there using this combination? I'm doubly interested as it turns out Itra is also effective in basal and squamous cell malignancies of which I have many...which the dermo wants only to cut away at. I'm not so sure about this approach given I may have a cutaneous DNA repair flaw. Turns out Itra's antagonistic effects on the 'hedgehog' pathway is curative with many skin cancers as well. Now thats what I call double duty markup.....two...cue the wriggly twins.....two cures in one...
Reason I ask is the concern in overloading the liver enzymes.

And rightly so....your LFT's is a major concern....You would have to watch those like a hawk...they are using Itraconazole and Hydroxychloroquine in a trial in Australia...some are getting good results....posted on this a while back... Check with your MO and see.... Good luck....
Such compelling news....given the skin cancer connection...which I also suffer from...
If I was handling my own case I’d be alternating the zytiga with the two ‘hedgehog’ interfering drugs as my T nadir has declined below the critical .7 threshold....if cancer treatment wishes were loonies I’d be a triple bar payout slot.
My Docs would freak if I even suggested the change.
Know the feeling....I can not even get dutasteride or metformin...as Dayatatime, LuLu, Cujoe, and many others of my amigos here say...SOC is just a slow ticket to see the Grim Reaper.... Waiting on the science to offer other possibilities....the laser that kills circulating tumor cells and the device to filter them out of blood hold promise, as well as some of the other developments, but it's the timetable that worries me...at least devices only take about 2 years...
I tried Itraconazole for basal cell- it didn't work at all. I had very deep basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas this year after using it for about 6 months, requiring multiple treatments. I would not combine it with Zytiga - it sounds like a very toxic combo (congestive heart failure is a possible side effect of itraconazole). Side effects go up markedly with dose, and high doses are needed for any reported effect. It is far less effective than Zytiga. Ketoconazole preceded Zytiga- Zytiga does a lot more - it makes no sense to take both.
So we can rule out these two 'hedgehog' modifiers in conjunction with Abi...This, on the other hand seems to make more sense in consideration of all my budding Squamous/Basal carcinomas....I went through effudex torture for 6 weeks trying to burn out of the little critters..it work nicely but turned my face to hamburger. I just wore a tube and a hoodie when I went to the pool hiding from the attendants scrutiny....anyway this sounds interesting and could it possibly side swipe some PCs.
I tried imiquimod too - did nothing for me - I hope it works better for you. I've resigned myself to annual inspections and scrapes.
Talk to your MO about Ketoconazole as it has cancer cell apoptosis properties. I took it in a Chemotherapy- Hormone Therapy clinical trial in 2004 before the latest advances.
Looking into finding someone near here-- Pittsburgh or WV/Ohio border...know of a website where I can find a Naturopath?? Around here, the ones I am familiar with aren't good, but that may be a moot issue if they order what I want anyway....
