My petmeds (fenbendazole) arrived....😏 and they threw in a couple of milk bones for me! Bark...bark. Sparky assumed the box was for him. Started today after lunch. Tasteless powder and easy to swallow in water. The milk bones were a little dry.😳
No Sparky...they're mine! Hookworms, ... - Advanced Prostate...
No Sparky...they're mine! Hookworms, castrate resistant prostate cancer and milk bones! LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL!

Woof! 🐶
Yes. Will do.
This was official notice of commencement. Will be doing it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ....off 4 days and repeat. (Following the protocol in Joe's blog.)
gJohn.
Reply below.
Great! Curious to hear.
Did you order the CBD from Randy or are you sourcing yourself?
I'm not doing this CBD...just the hookworm powder.
ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...
The key info of note from the abstract:
"Neither diet supplemented with vitamins alone nor fenbendazole alone caused altered tumor growth as compared with that of controls. However, the group supplemented with both vitamins and fenbendazole exhibited significant inhibition of tumor growth."
OK - my husband's dog bones arrives tomorrow and I ordered everything from Randy which arrives on Friday. Had a quick chat with him today and sounds like his CBD is pharmaceutical grade so worth a try to start.
He has been reading Joe's blog and considering doing it so will have everything ready to go if he decides to do it.
I'm on mebendazole 100mg daily alternating monthly with Doxycycline 100mg daily, along with Metformin ER 500mg twice a day and Atorvastatin 80mg as part of the COC protocol. I'm just one month into the program. It seems that these medications serve to block the metabolic pathways of the tumor cells in different ways. Hope you have success with your efforts.
Hi John -
I'm envious - my husband's petmeds came today and he only got one milkbone. Sadly our 18.5 year old feline does not appreciate the bone. He has decided to take the plunge - husband - not cat - so will post his progress. He is on Jevtana and I found research suggesting fenben increases the effectiveness of taxanes so will be interesting to see. His next app't is Friday.
Emily,
day two and I'm able to communicate better with Sparky. Bark Bark, Growl...
Hope your husband gets a GREAT boost from it. I read all of your posts to glean more about what you guys are dealing with and realized he's about my age...I'm guessing 59. I'm now 62.
what part of the country do you live in? that I couldn't figure out..it seems like you're "all over the place"...LOL. N.Y., Texas, L.A. England, etc....
gJohn
Hi John -
Nice! Bark bark . . .
He is 58-59 in a couple weeks, was 53 at diagnosis, so yes close to your age. So young for this diagnosis.
He is English and we lived there for 7 years until moving back to NYC in 2016. In that time, though we have been all over seeking advice from DRs in Swizterland, Canada, Germany, Japan, the U.K. and now here.
There is not a treatment we haven't heard of and petmeds is definitely not the most strange.
A patient of Ben Pfeifer's (at Aeskulap in Switzerland) who was basically sent home from Sloan to die 20 years ago (PSA in the thousands, metastases to most of the bones), responded to the Pfeifer protocol plus - and this is a big one plus - going to a Dr. in Japan who collects a patient's urine, does something to it and injects it back in the body. He has no sign of cancer in his body today. At the time we thought that was the strangest thing we had ever heard of. But it must not be so uncommon - when we told my mother-in-law in the UK about it she told us about visiting a friend in the hospital in Birmingham, England and the DR there had suggested he drink his urine - (he wasn't a cancer patient, if I recall he was in the hospital for kidney issues) and when he said he wouldn't be able to tolerate the taste, the DR suggested he drink it with coke! Dr. Pfeifer told us there is a cancer DR in Texas (if we didn't want to go to Japan) who actually has a contract with a cleaning company whereby he pays them to collect urine from the buildings they clean and treats it somehow before using it on patients. My husband is too English to have any interest in that!
So this is day one for him with FENBEN and he is excited to see how he does. THANK YOU so much for posting about Joe's blog. He has elected not to share this information with his current MO but did mention it to one of his former MOs in Europe who thought it was worth a try as he had seen research about this some years ago. Said that it works via different pathways from anything he is currently taking (lupron, xgeva).
After reading some of the cases on the blog, he decided that he will do it every day for two weeks before switching to the 3 days on / 4 days off rotation.
Thank you again! Will post as he gets results.
Emily
after reading your reply and thinking about it I have concurred with your Husband...I figured I should order more and do the 2 weeks daily also before starting the 3 days on and 4 days off regimen. Might as well try to stay as close to Joe's protocol as possible. Thanks! I'll be (NOT) drinking my own pee for the time being...but, lord knows, if it gets more momentum and proves to work...I'll try anything. (not with Coke....I'm thinking with Lemonade...LOL)
gJohn
P.S.
Petmeds is going to ask for my "breeder" license...because they'll have to get suspicious about how many dogs I have....
Excellent!
No pee drinking on this end anytime soon (although Gandhi drank his daily) but we don't rule out anything!
Emily....now at 8 days in on the "Joe Protocol"...doing it every morning with some "fat" for absorption and it also seems to help with the nausea I felt first few days....and now I don't seem to notice any side effects. I have an Axumin Pet Scan scheduled (again) for tomorrow...probably too early for results...and bloodwork on Friday....again, probably too early for results....but still hoping to see improvement. Has Gordon started the powder yet? I'll be doing about 4 or 5 more days and then starting on the Mon/Tues/Wed ON with the rest of the week off. I can't wait. It seems like I mix up and take too much stuff...between this and BIRM.
John
Hi John,
Today is day 7 for my husband so next Tuesday 28th will be his last day of every day before switching to 3 on/4 off. So far no side effects. So fingers crossed.
He rescheduled his next scan for after 8 weeks barking as that seems to be the earliest anyone noticed results. His next PSA will be first week of June.
No side effects noticed so far - he takes it with the CBD oil we got from Pharmacy Plus (as recommended on Joe's blog).
He also tends to take too much so is trying to figure out what to stop. Our new theme song is Who Let the Dogs Out.
If nothing else you have given us a lot of laughs.
Emily
I can't remember...is he doing BIRM also? I found it more effective on symptoms...and anecdotally on prostate cancer...than CBD Oil. I used it for a few months...and it did help me sleep..but I wasn't using enough to be "effective" supposedly...without feeling loopy and confused.
it's all a balancing act.
Bark, GROWL, bark,
John
Yes he is also doing BIRM. The industrial strength. Seems to help with energy. He takes THC at night to sleep. He started CBD last summer for pain and although he no longer has pain he still takes it - as it helps with mood and who knows maybe it is doing something to the cancer too.
oh dear ........ well the powder and the two bones came in and right off I had a problem because the Zometa treatments I'm getting are making my teeth brittle and they break off pieces when I try to chew the bone. so I ground up the bone into powder with the blender , tossed in the worm powder ( and a pinch of mandrake root and eye of newt as an alkaloid booster ) and added the wax used for suppositories and tried it that way. before I knew it my wife tackled me in the yard and said I was chasing the neighbor's cat. she brought me in the house and now I'm dragging my hind end on the carpet. my wife says she won't take off the collar and leash until I ask my doctor about taking this treatment again ! she's making me clean up the stains too. oh well ... seemed alright to me at the time grrrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. definitely better run this by my onc doc quick , want that collar off pretty soon.... kinda getting to like it tho ......... hey honey !!!!
Great reply! Try to stay out of the dog house. 😳
Thank you! I was so in need of good laugh!
yep all of us here can stand a little comic relief from the sometimes unbearable weight we carry. several people here try to lighten things , J-O-H-N being the king comedian of the bunch. I'm better at it after one of my wife's famous brownies she makes for me ya ahay haya ahah a hang in there , you have lots of quality company here to help us along our journy. best wishes .

Wait...so a med for hookworms prohibits tumor growth?
google it...there's a bit of information about it. There is someone name Joe who did a blog about his lung cancer going into remission using it. It supposedly works (for some people) to slow cancer growth in Prostate Cancer. A few of us are Barking about it. Waiting to see any results...I only started 4 days ago. Joe's "protocol" is listed in his blog...I just googled for you...here's a link
figured it was worth a try. Can't say it's good or bad ....but supposedly not harmful?
John
Hi John -
How are you doing so far barking? Curious if you still have slight nausea and if you attribute it to the fenben?
My husband is on day 10 today - slight nausea but not sure if it’s from last Friday’s chemo.
Have a nice holiday weekend,
Emily
well, at 9 days in(bark) I had my latest Pet Scan. (Axumin) that was two days ago. Saw the oncologist today. I haven't gotten back my PSA, but the scan after just 9 days(bark) showed some new growth at one spot on left lilac bone...small AND 2 lymph nodes in my pelvic area have also increased slightly. I'm not thrilled. I was hoping that everything I was doing (before starting Hookworm treatment) was keeping me at a "pause"....but I guess I was on an upward trajectory. So I get my next pet scan in 3 months. That will be a deciding factor as to whether I continue it....and also what new treatments he might be recommending.
I was trying so hard to be optimistic...but each "test" gets more "testing of my optimism".
John
p.s. have a great weekend. I'll be back to "positive" by tomorrow ...or later tonight, I hope!
Oh sorry to hear about your scan but I would imagine the scan would have showed the same before the barking protocol. Totally get it - my husband has the same feeling of optimism starting something then discouragement when it doesn't seem to work fast enough.
This damn disease . . . Yes we scheduled a scan for August 9 so will be curious to see.
Keep the faith . . . and have a great weekend
Thanks! I know it's early for any results from the hookworms....lol...I am mostly just upset that I had a visible progression while still just on Lupron and Xtandi and xgeva.
By my next scan I'll know whether this is worth all the hassles.
Although I would have preferred good news....slightly bad news is still a blessing.
John
That is interesting that you are taking a liquid version. We got the Panacur powder. My husband also found it chalky so I starting making capsules so he could take it that way. One packet makes two capsules - I don't fill either one up all the way but leave room for a few drops of CBD oil as I seem to remember that it absorbs better with fat.
Definitely can relate about all the "stupid treatments" - we have certainly entertained crazy ideas that under normal circumstances we wouldn't give a second glance.
Good luck and looking forward to hear how you do.
Are u going to take, or have u taken fenbendazole? If u have taken it, how is it going? Any nausea?
Been taking for the 14 day period of everyday. Just finished my first week of 3 days on...now 4 days off....thus I'm just finished with my 3rd week. No nausea...but I take with food and a oily food if possible
gJohn
How many milligrams during the on period...any side effects?
I buy the 1 gram packets...and it's the whole thing daily. The only side effect...I sort of noticed my stools were nicer than usual (TMI, but you asked)...other than that I have been feeling a little better G.I. wise.....
and I have been fighting hard to keep from barking at the mailman! (LOL)
gJohn
sounds like you haven't read the blog....
mycancerstory.rocks/single-...
it tells everything. I've had not side effects. I do try to take it with just a little of some kind of fatty food or oil...because it's suppose to absorb better.
I'm wondering if I should do it. I'm a little antsy because I'd have to use dog medicine and I was kinda wondering how it was continuing to go with you.
well...my first PSA after starting it will be Friday, June 21st. Next Petscan in 3 months approximately . Those should tell,
Thanks for keeping us up to date . Think positive . Hope you have great results .
My husband started Panacur, CBD and supplements this week. His oncologist will do another PSA mid-July to see if his PSA is lower. I don't know if the Panacur is supposed to lower PSA so I will be interested to see how your test comes out.
Many of you in this thread started Fenbendazole 3 months ago. Any results you have to share?
