I'm on Lupron/Zytiga/Prednisone and soon on Xgeva. Has anyone been aware of any interactions between these meds and the new shingles vaccine? I will see my MO later this month but, as we all know, they don't know everything.

Shingles shots and PCa meds?
Since those prostate cancer drugs are working on the systemic Androgen chemical agent axis, or the bone health side of things, .... and are not targeting the immune system, I would think it would be unlikely that there would any significant drug interactions with the new Shingles drug, Shingrix, which works in the virus & immune system realm.

I’m on prednisone, bzytiga and Lupron and my MDA MO said no problem with shingrix. I have had that new vaccine.
When I consulted about vaccines they advised me no to take live virus vaccines. Shingrix is not a live virus vaccine. It contains one protein from the outer shell of the zoster virus.
Mmmmm, my wife wanted the shingles shot and was told not to get it while I was on xtandi.
I am on Luperon and Zytiga, together with prednizone and a bunch of bone meds and blood pressure meds. Had a shingles shot last week with no apparent interaction issues. My mo said there should be no problem and there was none.
I’m on xtandi, Degarelix, Crestor, aledronic acic (fonat) and I got shingles 4 months ago. It was awful but it has receded significantly now. No dramas other than intermittent stabs of pain in my back and sides. I imagine no need for a shingles vaccine now especially as for the las two months my PSA is at <0.010
I woman was cured of advanced breast cancer because she contracted measels. Her immune system got fired up. Did your PSA drop after shingles?
Psa was on a gradual downwards trajectory anyway from xtandi from about 2.0 over 5 months down to .19 but I was surprised that it went to <0.10 for two months now.
I got it. I am post-chemo therapy and currently on Lupron and Xtandi. It is not a live vaccine.
Had my shot... no problem....

Thank you all - seems the consensus is no negative interactions with PCa meds.
Ok. My laugh of the day. Thanks.
