I had trouble finding the frequency of those tests on line. My MO has not yet ordered any.

My husband has been getting a monthly blood test as Mass General since he started on Zytiga in February, 2019.

I had liver tests every two weeks. My AST and ALT were slightly above normal. I was tested monthly when my numbers were back in the normal range.

Liver tests every two weeks - AST and ALT started to rise (ALT to almost twice normal) after six weeks, and as of 12 weeks, they are starting to go back down - so we are now going back to six weekly tests. Bottom line is that frequency needs to be matched to how your liver performs - and this doesn't particularly relate to your general health, it's just that some men have a sensitivity to the drug. I think that increasing green vegetable intake (from an already high base level) may have helped things a bit.

I go to my Doctor once a month for my Xgeva bone Mets injection so I get blood work done every month. My Doctor monitors my progress that way. I'm also on Zytiga, and Eligard.

My husband started Zytiga back in Dec 2017 when FDA approved adding it earlier rather than later for mCRPC. I believe the Zytiga pdf suggests monthly testing - my husband's oncologist continued with the scheduled 3 months blood work due when husband received his Lupron injection. Everything continues to be normal (considering).

I've learned that his oncologist doesn't read .pdf's and isn't always up to date on the newest research. That's where my research makes the difference. I almost laughed when the doctor told us that Provenge only requires one cell collection. I realized then that he wasn't the expert on prostate cancer. I then explained the process to him and why there are three collections. I'm becoming the expert. LOL
