If the Decipher test indicates you will likely be castrate resistent, why would one wait to prove it before trying Provenge? Why does Medicare wait for you to prove it? I would think a quick start on it would mean less $ in the long run for other treatment protocols?

It doesn't do that. It only gives the statistical likelihood that you will have detectable bone metastases in 5 or 10 years.

Provenge so far has only proved to be beneficial in men who are already metastatic and castration-resistant. Timing is important:
