Keytruda or xtandi side effects

My husband started clinical trial keytruda infusion plus xtandi. All was good for 10 days, then he developed horrible rash all over his body, red allergic type rash. It then turned red with burning, itching. The doctor said stop Xtandi which he did but wonder if the reaction was from keytruda or xtandi??? It is better now, but still electric shock feelings in back and still a little red. I hate to stop trial and don't know if this is temporary reaction that will subside or continue. Did anyone taking either of these drugs have similar reactions? thanks so much.

I would ask them if he can take Benadryl 25 mg---1 or 2 hours prior to the drug... he can then take it later also---ask the MD's in the trial---if he continues trial in advance of the rash, try getting Triamcinolone .1% cream or ointment topically to the rash.... Can be used several times a day....That may help him be able to continue the study....best of luck...

Not to scare you but please research Steven Johnson Syndrome. I know of someone who developed it 2.5 weeks into Keytruda and died. It started with a rash and blisters. Again, not trying to scare you but it is very serious!

My Dad has been taking Xtandi for 29 days now. No rash. He is not taking Keytruda. I hope all is well. Kimberly
