Just curious if anyone knows if there are life insurance options for stage 4 prostate cancer patients in Canada?

Life insurance options? In Canada, health is a provincial responsibility. In the province I live in, British Columbia, the ADT drugs are paid for by the BC Cancer Agency. So also are the second tier drugs like Xtandi (enzalutamide) and Zytiga (abiraterone). Drugs that build bone strength like Prolia (aka Xgeva) and Zometa (zoledronic acid) are the patient’s responsibility. Most Canadians have an extended health care plan that pays for the portion of prescription drugs that are not paid for by the provincial Medical Services Plan. Hope that helps!
We are good for medical/prescriptions, but I’m meaning life insurance that would pay out and help with expenses that are now left to the spouse to cover.
Give me some examples of the type of expenses that you are referring to. Visits to your doctor, dentist, urologist, oncologist, all scans etc. are covered by the provincial Medical Services Plan (MSP) in Canada. So too are stays in the hospital and all attendant care. You might have to pay more for a private room. Chiropractic care, massage therapy, acupuncture, orthodental treatment etc. are covered by your individual extended health care plan. Hope that helps.
Day to day living expenses without the second income (ie mortgage, car payments, university for the kids, etc).
As I recall, a wife in the USA recently wrote about taking out funeral policies with four or five different companies when her husband given less than a year to live. Apparently previously existing conditions do not apply to funeral policies. I have not researched this information.
Here it is:

Hello,
I wanted to share more about the burial policies. They are also called whole life policies. I did my due diligence and hope it may help some of you care for your family's future.
Below is the list of policies I purchased and the payments. The policies are small. Therefore I bought as may i could. There is no underwriting. I took money out of our Roth account to make the monthly payments. I set up a second checking account with automatic withdrawals. I did this only because I didnt like seeing the insurance withdrawals mixed in with my regular checking account. Once one buys the policy, it pays the full policy amount when after two years upon death. If one passes before two years, one gets the premiums back plus typically 10%. Since my husband lived 2.3 years after we purchased the policies. It was a practical investment. The math is if one lives 7.5 years it is not a good investment. (You would do better investing in the market) I have received several checks so far and there are no problems at all. They are all being processed. It takes some time to receive the claim paperwork and send back in the death certificate.
I hope this helps some of you and encourages you. It has been a big help to me and my husband was relieved when he made the two year anniversary of the policies.
Here is what I bought, the payments and the policy payout.
