As someone who has taken MM, I agree completely with Ted. A sense of control of one’s own destiny is crucial in benefiting from whatever treatment they are on.

His talk is even more important for what is says about patient control than MM. And the context make it easy to understand.

^^ this. My first thought after trying MMJ was I wish I had the same freedom to find an anti-depressant or benzo that worked for me (and also experiment with dosages), without having to first get an excruciatingly specific prescription for each change.

I'm on a maintenance drug to help prevent atrial fibrillation episodes. Been on it for years. Works as well as can be expected and doesn't cause any problems. I'll be on it forever unless I decide to get ablation surgery to eliminate the problem. So why do I need to see a cardiologist every six months to get refills? BTW I have a MM card. Don't need to see a doctor to get refills there.
