I’m sitting looking out my window at my snow covered forest in northern Wisconsin with the sun shining but -6 on the thermometer and thinking how great life is.
I’m heading out tomorrow for a three day ice fishing trip on Lake of the Woods and while I have my aches and pains they are just a nusence vs the fun of pulling out a walleye. I’m feeling good after my 3 LU 177 PSMA injections so going to do something enjoyable. ( for those from the south I’ll be in a warm heated shack and hopefully some fish).
Take the time to enjoy life, stay positive let’s beat this disease in what ever way works for us!
I’ll report on fishing in a few days. New scans this Friday

Coming to our backyard! We live not far from Lake of the Woods... and this morning it was -26 and still -8. But... we didn't get snow! Have fun!! You picked a cold time to visit
Enjoy the fishing....walleye are so tasty.....hope you have great luck in your piscatorial adventure....great attitude....keep fighting, brother...hope the scan is much improved
A balmy -1 here in northern NY with 8-15 inches of snow on the way. I was in the woods today laying out a path to hang buckets for sugaring. Just have to dress for the elements and it's my kind of exercise. I'm an ice angler too and jigging walleyes is by far my favorite target, in the open water as well. Jigging raps tipped with minnow heads and PK spoons a few of my favorite hard water baits. If you've never tried ripping lipless cranks it's a great way to get them. Good luck on the hard water and don't forget to fill the propane tanks.
Your story sounds about like mine minus the radiation. Prostate out, no t. then xtandi to push PSA into 0.140 range for last 10 mo. No target for radiation acct wide spread spiderweb of veins and nerves all showing G-9/10 even in areas of tissue outside area+ bone mets. Scans showed clean before surgery. Cut and split wood yesterday. Wood box full and no snow till Monday. Leaving for north Idaho on 6th. May get in some fishing if cold enough.
Well just to provide a contrast, I am sitting here in Canberra, Australia, looking out over the golf course where I live, enjoying a cooler day - just 34C today, after 4 days of 40+C. Luckily the aircon was working well.
I am a keen golfer, but can’t believe there were guys out there playing when it was 43C.
I love to golf as well but need to wait till spring now. Last time I tried to.golf on my first swing something let loose and put me on the ground in pain. I love the love and feel of golf courses. Hit it straight!
I too enjoy the feel an being outside, not much of a golfer,an never will be,but still enjoy it just the same, this Am it was 63 deg. In eastern nc,but rain
Brrrrrrr! 🌬🌨 Having grown up in northeastern South Dakota I, too, can appreciate the beauty of a fresh snowfall and sub zero temps where the snow crunches under your boots as you walk. However, after 33 years of living in Central Florida, I now appreciate it on the TV screen while looking out my window at palm 🏝 trees. That being said, Jackpine made some wonderful points by stating that as advanced PCa patients we should all appreciate what a gift life is, how much beauty surrounds us every day that most if not all of us took for granted prior to our cancer diagnosis, and that for us, staying positive is not just a philosophy, it’s therapy. Hope you catch a mess of fish up there. 😎
Geez you're so lucky.... ice fishing my second favorite sport.... first one is being stuck in New York City traffic.. I'll just have to suffer sitting on my couch in my warm living room watching the AFC and NFC playoff games and eating buffalo wings. Woe is me.....
I assume your main car is a snowmobile. I can picture it. My brother lives in Wisconsin. Glad to hear success with LU177. I am fortunate to get my first dose next week at UCLA.
I hope you have similar results. Do not be surprised to see a rise after the first injection. After my first injection I went from 110 to 67 but second week it rose to 87. But then dropped every week since.
We will be using snowmobiles to get to the ice house (about a 7 mile ride). Chilly morning at zero.
Here in Oregon's Willamette Valley, I don't envy you guys. I think the Pacific Northwest has the best weather in the world. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. But you're right - it is a great life and I'm privileged to have it.
(Pronunciation tips: Or-a-gun is the state and "willamette" rhymes with "damn it")
