Works for pain relief and appetite, as well as overall wellness.

As a cure for prostate cancer, not going to happen.

Hi, Can you share what you know about pain relief. This is the dreaded dilemma I feel about this situation we find ourselves in- prostate cancer!!

The first week of diagnosis almost 12 years ago, someone told me about the pain. It's an awful way to be introduced to prostate cancer- living with this fear for my husband. Bad enough there is so much loss, but the pain is the awful part of this disease.

I've been hunting for some solution, if and when we get into this situation. Pain was how we first realized something was wrong and needed diagnosing. We had a bout of pain prior to spot radiation 2 years ago. So, I did get to know first hand how many opioids might not give the relief needed .

The interesting thing about cannabis is many people talk about it relieving pain, and I know it does for many people, for instance with various ailments- people are using CBD and getting relief.

I've also seen where THC can heighten body sensation instead of dull it. Can you shed any light on this. Thanks very much.

Hi, I might be able to shed a little light on Rick Simpson Oil. He's a guy from Canada originally, I think living in Eastern Europe now. He created an oil using cannabis, heating it. I believe originally for skin cancer.

His name used to reference this type of oil. He does have a following. The solvents used for his oil are not to be used because of toxicity. In order to pull the cannabinoids and terpenes out of the oil solvents are used. This is where his name used has become problematic.

In the past 5 years, he's been discredited because of the solvents and myths in his work. For instance, a gram a day for 90 days is needed to cure!!!

Today's cannabis medicine is being regulated, tested and often a process like CO2 is used which is considered a clean way to process the cannabis. There's a lot of discussion about this within many groups.

So, I first wanted to say, when you say RS oil.. this would be the first obstacle you would have to consider.

I'm not sure what state you are living in, but many have legitimate dispensaries, and a number of states medicinal cannabis is a big business. There are cannabis doctors and nurses who help advise strain, and dosage.

I do a lot of research and reading about anything we are considering. There is a study done in the Netherlands that is a PDF file online. If I can find it, I'll copy and paste.

Much research is done in Israel and Spain.

What I do know is you have to be careful of your source. You can think you are purchasing something safe that isn't. The dispensaries are the best to use if you are going to try it.

I can't testify to it working or not. There are posts on here discussing cannabis, or CBD.

I do know the ratios of CBD to THC for prostate cancer vary from 1:1 to 5:1, cbd to thc.

Rick Simpson's version is the highest THC possible. This is why I say, research. I hope you have someone to help you. All this does become daunting.

I hope I helped clarify a little.

I tried it for 3 to 4 months and it did seem to lower my PSa but only from 10 to 9 . I was too high all the time and I finally said enough. It can also give bad reactions to some people. It did not cure me but I am glad I tried it. Some people with different cancers say it has helped such as my Bro in law who has colon cancer. It seems to have helped him. I just had Robotic surgery and I am hoping for a cure that way. We will see. Good luck.

Thanks for the come back. I am doing RS oil prepared by a trusted person who grows the plants organically and uses pure alcohol .I will keep group informed as to how this goes.

Dr Myers has stated that Camnnabis Oil is a definite no-no for PCa, in that the additional cannabinoid receptors in PCa cells mean that RS oil actually helps the cells grow.

Rick Simpson is a farmer, Charlatan, and Snake Oil salesman who has been prosecuted in Canada. It has never cured any form of cancer.

It is, however, good for anxiety and moderate pain relief.

Here’s a nice article which goes much further into Rick Simpson and his magic oil ....

Lewicky and Genie-Paul,

There are doctors that specialize in pain management in general and in cancer pain management in particular. When my uncle died of cancer 20 years ago, he found a pain management doctor who gave him tremendous relief which his oncologist didn't seem to be able to do.

To find a pain specialist there is always Google. You can also look for recommendations from people you know, from local hospitals, from palliative care centers, and from online groups like this one. I see, for example, that there is a "Pain Concern" group on HealthUnlocked.

I use RS Oil, a 1:1 ratio, to help with sleep and pain. I do not believe it will help with any kind of cure. My Med MJ doctor whom I saw yesterday, has no problem with it. I also just bought some 16:1 because I need some extra CBD as I get ready for bed. I have not tried it as I have a bunch of CBD oil from a non-MMJ dispensary, and my MMJ doctor does not approve. When it is gone, I will go to the 16:1 instead.

It works to calm me down, help me get to sleep, eases pain. I really love the 1:1 stuff.
