I’m doing quite well on my Zytega and lupron for the last nine months but every few days I have some real stomach issues. I’ll spare you the gory details. But it’s painful and uncomfortable. Any thoughts on using probiotics? Here’s an interesting article.
I am on Zytiga and Prednisone and Lupron. I have been taking quality probiotics, acidophilus, and enzymes for years. My wife and I started by working with a nutritionist. The literature out there has nothing but praises for these assisting with gut and digestive health. After my Dx, I also changed my diet to include more vegetables than before, more fruit and nuts, only a little raw milk cheese, otherwise no dairy including butter. A lot of chicken and fish. Whole grains and brown rice. I eat potatoes and gluten-free bread. Virtually no highly processed foods and very, very little processed sugar. I don't know what this is doing for my PC. It obviously did not prevent it. But I feel better on this diet, digestion-wise and am quite regular. Exercise and hydration helps, also. You may have more going on causing your problem and need additional professional help, but I wanted to emphasize what is possible to do for yourself.
Metamucil or similar products are helpful with both constipation and diarrhea. It's a good habit to get into because gastric problems and long term medications just go hand in hand.
