Hi,
My dad passed away last weekend from this horrible cancer. In lieu of flowers, we are planning to ask for donations for PC research. Any recommendations??

💗 I think it’s a great idea. 💗 My heart goes out to you. We were in this thing together and I know how hard you fought for him.
Great suggestion! This is by far the best community. I just wish I had discovered it earlier.
Thanks for your good words Donate to our community at malecare.org/donate
You were a great advocate for you dad. Thank you! I hope you have plenty of happy memories to crowd out the sadness. You remain part of our family.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Hugs to you and prayers for peace of mind and heart after your Dad’s battle.
I'm sorry for your loss. I didn't know your Dad, but I lost my Mum to cancer so I know what you're going through. I have been dealing with stage IV PCa for 2 years and I live in Perth, Western Australia. We have a research institute here called the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Their main aim (their mission I guess) is to change cancer from being a killer to a manageable chronic disease. The place runs 100% on donations. It has a couple of wealthy benefactors, but also runs several 'charity events' each year. One of the main ways they raise funds is via an event called the 'Ride to Conquer Cancer' in which over 1,000 cyclists ride 200km over 2 days (from Perth, to Mandurah, 100km to the south) and back again the following day. I participated in the event last year as a volunteer crew member and I learnt a lot about the research they are involved in. The head of the institute (Professor Peter Leedman perkins.org.au/our-people/l... lost his own father to metastatic prostate cancer and he is absolutely passionate about cracking the code. This year's Ride to Conquer Cancer is happening on the weekend of Oct 13 and 14 and I have put together a team of cyclists to participate, so this year, I'll be riding along side 1,000 other people in this challenging event (as will many other people dealing with cancer). My campaign is called TEAM ABBOTTS - bit.ly/teamabbotts - and we need to raise an amount of funds to participate. I know we're probably on the other side of the world to you, but these guys are doing amazing work. Only last weekend, there was a story in our Saturday paper about a recent breakthrough perthnow.com.au/news/health.... Anyway, I think it's a super worthy cause. Let me know if you'd like to know more. The donation link is bit.ly/teamabbotts2 .
Gods blessings to you all
