Multiple cancer survivor - Beating Cancer

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2006 and had my gland removed. My PSA rose again after 6 years and a 6 week course of radiation brought it back under control. 2 years ago my PSA was 3 times what it was at diagnosis. I have been on hormone therapy for a year now and my last PSA test result was undetectable I have also been diagnosed with skin cancer twice and 2 x stage IV Glioblastomer brain tumours.

How are you doing with the glioblastomas?

Hi YostConner. Im doing great with my GBM's now. 4 1/2 years since my first diagnosis and 3 1/2 years since my second. But my neuro surgeon was a hero by implanting Gliadel wafers when removing the recurrence. Ive had three clear scans since then and on 15 November I will be getting my 4th clear scan. Im now almost back to my life before Cancer, which was 12 years ago, and 5 diagnoses ago. I attend gym 3-4 times a week, cycle, walk, run, swim. We can all beat cancer if we just believe in ourselves and never give up the fight.

Hi Yost, I have now had 4 clear scans since my neuro surgeon implanted Gliadel wafers during excision of my second GBM. I am top of the world and getting back to my life before the days of cancer. I'm 63 years old but still gyming. swimming, cycling and feeling great about it all. My journey through 5 cancer diagnoses is not a SOB story about what I have been through but a SUCCESS story about how I went through it.

So much on your plate. You are tuff. Hope ADT keeps it down for a long time for you Sir.

Hi Lulu700 thank you but its not just being tough. I wrote a book about my journey through 5 cancers and I have a Facebook page called "beating Cancer so through my book and my FB page I inspire people all around the world with my motto that my story is not a sob story about what I have been through but it is a success story about how I went through it From the start I believed I would beat this demon living inside me and have never thought anything else but "I WILL BEAT CANCER".

Now, inspiring people around the world drives me on to greater heights in my own recovery and I am almost back to where i was before cancer, 12 years ago. I go to gym 3-4 times per week, and I also cycle, walk, run. swim. We can all beat cancer but we must believe in ourselves and never give up on the belief that we will win. I overcame 2 imminent death prognoses and am now proud that I can use my experience to encourage and inspire others to win their own personal battles.

It is my pleasure to help people who still have to travel the road I have already travelled with some success.
