"We are very sad to share the news that Neal died March 11, 2018 at home in San Leandro. He spent his last days with his family, listening to jazz music and eating good food.
Joyously, this news is being sent over a decade later than doctors once feared; in 2003, Neal was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and given an estimation of 2-3 years to live. Neal refused to accept that fate. He stubbornly and determinedly tried nearly everything to beat cancer. He did for 15 years!"

While I am sorry for your loss, your husband's example is nothing short of inspiring.
I have know Neil for years through social media. He was a major contributor on the yahoo prostate group. This is heartbreaking news.
Sorry to hear, I'd like to send my condolences to all of his loved ones. I enjoyed Neal on this group and also had the pleasure of meeting him in person at a support group he attended in Concord. He will be missed by all here.
So sorry for you and your family's loss. I'm fairly new, diagnosed 2 years ago with similar time expectations and hoping to make 8 or 10 years now. Neal will be an inspiration for me to keep on plugging.
Heartfelt condolences to you and family. I never met Neal in this group, but know his determined spirit has inspired me to keep fighting by the side of my husband. 💚🙏🏽💚
I will pray for you and your family to get through this time of sorrow. I wish I could have met Neal in person. At lease Neal is now at peace and pain free.
So very sorry to hear of your loss (and ours). Thoughts and prayers go out to Yvonne and all of his family. Even though he passed on, his is in some respects a success story and inspiration for all his f us who were also Stage 4 at diagnosis, and told (in my case by the urologist who first treated me) that I could expect to live about 3 years. I’m at 3 years now. Today is my 6th and final chemo. And I expect to take after Neal and be around for 15 more years. God bless him and your family.
I am a newbie to this group so I do not know Ron, but the loss of one of our “club” member is always sad but also joyous if he is a believer in God the Father and Christ, because we will see him again someday in heaven. My condolence to you and family and thanks for updating this group with this info.
Ooh Yvonne.....I am deeply saddened to read that Neal has left the earth... he was very kind, knowledgeable, helpful, optimistic, loving, compassionate and understanding from the time we communicated on the sites. He will be missed so much. I'm so glad he had you to love and care for him. My sincere sorrow for you and your family's loss, pain and 💔 heartbreak of such a genuine Man. My tears for his loss
Our deepest condolences to you and your family. Ron's fight shows what individuals can do with good treatment and positive outlook---many additional years of happiness with loved ones. Our prayers our with you during this difficult period!
😢sorry to hear that, my Father has had what I was told 2as a slow growth tumor in his prostate for several years. I finally got a copy of his doctor. Urologist report, 😢. He has been going to this DO for 20 years with PSA that have ran from normal to 332. He’s had seed implants, lupron,Elegard you name it. Had a CT scan w and W/o contrast finally and a bone scan . The tests were done at a hospital that’s marginal. They came back with a possible additional met in his lymph nodes, first I’ve heard of any Mets. Now to a hospital to get a Auxium X-ray. Instead of a biopsy, Dads 87 with only Medicare, I feel like they have let him fall thu the cracks. 😢 I have stage 4 w/Mets. But they seem to have forgotten to send him to a oncologist for care when he could have been helped. Now he says if they fin$ anything bad it won’t matter as he won’t take anymore treatments. Sorry for the rant. Abou5 to loose my hero
