Just went to see fam in Lafayette - esp my 2 granddaughters. My dental office had a pipe burst which rendered it a total loss. PSA got to 3.3(another one month doubling), T at 280. So, a sh*tty week, until I hung out with the kids.

Hi Randy, its the natue of the beast that we tend to spend a lot of time obsessing about PSA numbers, treatments, prognosis etc but this is a great photo and a timely eminder that sometimes we have to be able to let go for a while and enjoy our families while we can. Thanks for sharing this.
Having said that - sorry to hear about your rising PSA. I would be interested to know what your MO says and what's next for you, maybe that's another thread?

This is very timely for me right now. Thank you for giving me the word for today.
I posted the pic cuz I knew that my grandkids know nothing about the cancer, the flood or anything else - they wanted to hang out with G pa and that just made all the other cares melt away.
Btw, off to Vegas with my 24 yr old daughter, on Spring break from U of C Law, and gonna spend 4 days(Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam) with her before she goes to NYC for work.
Insurance will take care of water damage or simply write off on taxes. Just be happy you can still work the practice. Take time off. Psa can always be brought down. Don’t worry, be happy. Great kids.
You are blessed with beautiful grandchildren . They are the hope of the world!
Here’s one g pa doc’s message to you, a practioner as well for 31 years, (retired) it’s all about those kids & g kids. Your gods gift to them as they are to you, Enjoy. It’s a great reason to beat cancer. I’ve learned PSA numbers are basically road markers, the numbers vary so widely that I’ve seen guys in single digits develop stage 4 and some guys in the hundreds do not. Don’t fret numbers, it’s definitely a lot bigger beast to tackle that can’t be defined my numbers. Best to you doc, drStan AZ ; PS: my numbers are in the low 200’s and I’m currently in this battle for my life too. Be well
Love my grandkids, new pocket dog and my old cat that has bone cancer. Amazing to me is that the cat was diagnosed aug 16 and still with me, not much hair and has lost more than half his body weight but still likes to hang out with me
