Not sure how to interpret results of new tests

Labs both late or missed PSA this time around. First time tested T and DHT. Look like good results to me, but don't have any experience with them so thought I would throw them out her and see if I am evaluating them right.

DHT--<5 L

T, total,LC/MS/MS ---7L

Due for next Lupron shot Monday. Adding Xtandi after last bump in PSA seems OK.

Onc. Dr. satisfied with blood results. LDH was only one out of bounds at 239 units/L

Still waiting for PSA--lab said equipment problem and sent sample to Phoenix lab. 5to7 day turnaround.

As usual still juggling meds, now on Dexamethasone 4mg pills twice a day for 5 days after Taxatere acct sloughing skin on back.

Round 8 in the books.

Shooter,

Your LDH-C was 239 mg/dL. Castrate T will mess up your lipids somewhat. Exercise might help a bit.

What were your triglyceride & HDL-C numbers. The ratio is a surrogate for insulin resistance. You might consider Metformin, which I think all men with PCa should be on, if possible.

Also, do you have data for VLDL-C - the cholesterol attached to the very small lipoproteins? That's the bad one.

Best, -Patrick

Shooter,

I misread LDH as LDL - apologies.

Triglycerides:HDL-C looks good to me.

Thanks guys. now if lab can get PSA done and still going in right direction, I'll feel a lot better... Getting tired sooner after #8 than after the others... Cumulative effect I guess.

Labs in PSA down 10% more...less than before but in the right direction. Now 0.132
