I'm sorry to hear of your condition tlew. It might help you to find a doctor who specializes in pain management. It won't fix your cancer but it might make life a lot easier.

Best of luck.

Welcome, tlew.

So sorry to hear of your life with so much pain. Can you tell us the name of the treatments you are on now? And where/how it hurts?

Also, if we could have some idea of the area where you live, somebody here may be able to point you in the direction of local palliative pain management resources, support groups, or other support resources that may help you in your life that lies ahead.

If you are taking Opioid pain medication(s), this link discusses several ways to help keep them most effective, while also minimizing side effects. You might find some ideas to discuss with your prescribing doctor(s).

Keep letting us know how you are doing. You are not alone.

Tlew...you must have a lot of guts and fortitude. I don't know if I could withstand what you have already gone through.

Cheers for you.

AlanMeyer and Charles (above) have the right idea for you. I hope you are able to find some joy and sunshine.

Welcome Tlew,

Elgie is on many meds for pain. He would not be able to walk if we take even one pill away. He is on Oxycodone, Cymbalta...up to 90 mg, Fentanyl...sometimes higher sometimes lower, Celebrex 200 mg I think twice a day, Turmeric..Solgar brand and Naproxen as needed every day or every other day. It takes all of those meds to get him out of bed each day. Previously they also had him on Oxycontin with all of the others and he worked off of that one. I'm so sorry for your pain. I truly am. I hope your doctors or pain specialist are able to find some type of medications to help you to not hurt so bad.

Most sincere. Healing hugs.

Jackie

tlew,

so sorry to hear about the pain crisis and hoping you can get a good pain management specialist to assist.

I'm on the sidelines but wondering if you were ever put on Zytiga which for many guys has worked wonders for symptoms of metastatic PC.

Wishing you all the best in your fight.

Peter
