In the U.S. some of the very famous cancer treatment centers include Johns Hopkins (Baltimore), Memorial Sloan Kettering (New York), Dana Farber (Boston), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota), and M.D. Anderson (Houston, Texas). Another one, for clinical trials only, is the National Cancer Institute Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

A very famous treatment center in England is the Royal Marsden in London. One in Canada is the Princes Margaret Cancer Center in Toronto.

There are many other excellent places. I believe that mistakes and failures are possible everywhere, even in these famous hospitals, but I think all of the places that I named provide state-of-the-art treatment. I know there are excellent places in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, and probably in some of the Middle Eastern cities, but I'm not familiar with them and can't give you any names.

I have just had a look on the website of your doctor. He looks really like a very good guy.

I like the idea of doctors not only following the current protokol but looking at new combinations of therapy or new treatment options altogether.

Not to be overlooked please is Loma Linda Medical Center in So. California. Their pioneering of Proton Beam Therapy since 1990 has proven to be a very successful option. I was joined by an impressive group of medically educated, financially independent fellow PC patients that chose this option, and we do have options even if less than medically educated or financially independent. The staff, respectful care and treatment we're beyond my expectations when confronted with my diagnosis and challenging choices of treatment. Worth considering!
