DSim, are you saying that Keytruda has been FDA approved for castrate resistant prostate cancer, if so are there restrictions for certain genetic mutations?
Dan
Yes. For both of them.
Thanks DSim, do you have any links to share?
Keytruda was FDA approved for cancers that carry the DNA mismatch repair gene regardless of tumor origin. This was the first time a drug was given FDA approval based on genetic defect vs. tumor origin. In the study that aided in this approval I believe one prostate cancer patient was treated out of 86.
We need more info or studies that apply these newer drugs to pc. I haven't heard anything yet. Hope to soon
Hi, very interesting, but we need to know more. Mel and Paul.
On the subject of Keytruda, tomorrow I will get my sixth treatment of Keyturda (every 3 weeks) which I previously mentioned costs $30,000. ($30K) per treatment (not for my Pca). I asked my oncologist will the Keyrtuda have any positive effect on my Pca. Her reply was that studies show very little, if any.
BTW I do not have any side effects from the Keytruda.
I will leave you with this: A guy asks his Urologist to use two fingers for his DRE. Doctor asks why would you want me to do that? Guy says "I would like a second opinion".
