Back in 2006 the Urologist that diagnosed me, told me it would be very painful, and that I would probably be dead within a year I said thanks for the info , but I am gonna live a lot longer than that, to his reply" Its good that you are being positive but most Men do not make it much more than a year , I fired him thinking if he could not do better than that I would go elsewhere . Then I got a good medical Oncologist. why would you tell a Patient that? Don't they know how important hope is in this battle, And that saying things like that would make us just fold up and obey that prediction.

Gus,

I agree with you; that comment was a defeatist comment. Since I am taking casodex and supplements too; do you take 150 mg.of casodex, daily? In your nine years did you ever take a vacation; if so, how long and what where the results. Did you have any mets initially, and have they been reduced, by how much?

Our doctors have always said. If you are old enough, something will take you before prostrate cancer will.

The urologist that initially DX'd me told me on the first visit to announce the results of my biopsy: "Dont worry we'll have you having erections in no time". I should have dumped him then and there. He was wrong!
