So I started medication a couple months ago for ADHD.
Vyvanse but wasn't feeling it so then changed extend release Adderall.
First 25mg but that was too intense so backed down to 20 which seems to help overall but not a magic bullet for focus sadly.
Anyway, it could be coincidence but around the same time I've had pain in both upper arms (also my left calf) which a orthopedist diagnosed as rotator cuff injury.
At first it was only the right arm and I play Volleyball so it seemed to track.
I also have right elbow pain.
I wanted an MRI for both shoulders but insurance won't approve until I do 6 weeks of PT.
They did approve MRI for elbow and it turns out I do have a torn ligament in the elbow.
The chance that i tore both rotator cuffs simultaneously seems unlikely, and since I'm experience other body pain (calf muscle etc) I'm thinking it could be the Adderall.
Anyone else have symptoms of joint/muscle/tendon pain?
I asked my prescribing psychiatrist and he said he is unaware of such side effects : (
Thanks in advance.

It's a good idea to keep track of any changes that you notice while on a medication, the good, the bad, and especially the scary.
(Adderall XR gave my tachycardia, once my dosage was increased to 20mg. It also only moderately treated my ADHD symptoms. That's why my doctor changed me to a different medication.)
I'm on Elvanse, but have had muscle twitching. I used to use caffeine as a pre-workout, and when I stopped that, the twitching stopped, have had no problems since, so I use it wisely now.
You should be careful because there's such thing as 'serotonin syndrome' meaning your brain is produces too much and doesnt need the medication. It IS potentially life threatening too, so be careful. Muscle, joint pain, twitching and spasms are a symptom of serotonin syndrome, so just be aware
