Diagnosed and started medication atat 50. Meds help but I have trouble with consistently keeping up with helpful habits for organization and follow through.
My spouse who does all the organizing and admistrating for the family will be blind next month for 2 months after surgery. I want to be supportive and care for my spouse and keep the home going.
Help.

I would say it takes several years to make meaningful progress with ADHD. Try coaching, try therapy and try meds, different ones. There is no quick fix (though meds do provide a huge boost for some people, not all).
Since ADHD is itself so disabling and demoralizing, my suggestion is therapy to clean up every other element of our mental health. Because just dealing with ADHD is enough.
I’d recommend KC Davis’s Struggle Care website /book (I read it on our library app for free) & maybe your spouse can help you make sample daily checklists (simple ones) of getting kids ready, minimal house tidying (just putting daily use stuff where it goes) etc. Her website has some you can buy to avoid having to reinvent the wheel, if that’s in your budget (not super expensive). She has a Tik Tok channel if you use that. Make things as simple as possible. It’s all about survival, not having it perfect.
