Research shows Stimulants are effective in treating chronic pain. How can I become a subject in future research ?

After reading about research being done in Md re: the use of Stimulants along with Opiates for chronic pain, I was interested in being a subject in this study. I have had excellent results and wish to help others. Anyone know where to apply to be a subject in this or related research? Thanks.

Try the link below. I know opiates and stimulants can help those with pain for several reasons. I do not see it becoming anything near a standard practice due to opiates and stimulants both being a Schedule II. So I doubt any company would invest the money into clinical trials. The medical community is trying to get away from prescribing opiates for pain and in many patients stimulants for ADHD.

Thanks. I did check that out and discovered the post I read about that one study was about four years ago. So, that's way over. And I know you're right about the politics involved.

But It's a shame because Adderall helps my pain as much as Opiates. And since neither lasts very long in the controlled dosages allowed, it takes both to get through the day. But neither makes me "high" or crave more- they simply allow me to do the physical therapy I need and to have a life. Otherwise the pain would drive me to withdraw and lie in bed, useless and worsening daily. The proper research would confirm that this is a reasonable and beneficial combo for those who need it

I remembered many years ago. It was not uncommon for some doctors that prescribed opiates to also prescribe low dose stimulants. They did it to combat the side effects of opiates. Of course that stopped when the CDC Guidelines can out in 2016.
