Who has requested accommodations for adhd and working in a call center. I meet most metrics but struggle with wrap times for calls and making notes of call. What type accommodation did you request.

I'm in San Diego. I'm having. Difficult time finding any type of Housing. I recieve SSI and have a small Gardening Business. I've been here for 30 years and am accessing all Social Services to find a room or studio. Many people are building "Granny Flats" since the State has eased Restrictions. I just don't think I can hang on without a home base soon. My Depression and anxiety as well as disorganization are compounded daily. I was in wondering if any resources I have not already accessed might be sent to me? Thanks for your response.

I also live in California, housing is extremely expensive here. Have you ever considered moving out of CA, I'm currently considering Arizona or Texas.

I hope you are able to find housing soon, you might want to check California vaccination line- I know they have an extension to help with housing.

I didn't and struggled with the same thing. Whenever they gave me crap about it I showed them my NPS an FCR scores. Eventually my manager stopped bringing it up. If it's not possible then just take "bare minimum" notes. I promise you they will be better than most people who take no notes at all.

I work in a (at home) call center, too and have tried to get accommodations for ADHD, but it’s like they don’t exist. I’ve been able to get accommodations for my physical conditions—chronic migraine/chronic pain and insomnia—but not ADHD. So many people still act as though “ADHD is an excuse for being lazy” (quotes because of how often I’ve heard that). Neurotypical people do not understand nor do they care to even try to understand. From my experience with trying to get accommodations for ADHD, the overall attitude is “do the job or get out and let someone else do it”.

It’s crazy that people think that way. Michael Jordan Has ADHD.

ADHD in sports or corporate VP culture is acceptable as a “useful tool”, but to everyone else on the ground level it’s considered laziness because of all the stimulation we deal with on a daily basis can make working at a desk in a repetitive job excruciating.

I recently quit my job at the veterans affairs for how they handled accommodations. It was terrible. Being a disabled veteran and being refused accommodations for almost an entire year.

If disability services were run by the disabled this world would be the better for it.

I couldn't agree with you more 👍 I have been convinced of this many times myself in various spheres of life :( luckily modern call centers can rely on dependable software from Voiso with tons of convenient features like 95% speech recognition accuracy or the option of setting the bar for call recording & playback. Here is what I mean in more detail voiso.com/recording.
