Strattera experience

Started on Strattera last week with 25 mg dose for a week, the second week taking additional 25 mg dose. Hot flashes like crazy, nausea like being pregnant again and sleepiness, and then insomnia. Is this just in the beginning phase of the medication or it will continue as the Strattera starts working as I read after 4 or more weeks of taking it. I'm reading all the comments here about your guys experience with the meds and that's why I value your input since all of us are in this together. thanks,

I've stopped taking it two days ago because I felt miserable and there is no way one can go on like that, you want to feel better but with the side effects you go down hill, thanks for replying

New here but I had to respond to this. My GP put me on Strattera when ADHD was first diagnosed since I know they don’t like to prescribe stimulants. It put me in such a dark place, and I’ve been on heavy antipsychotics prior to my ADHD diagnosis and Strattera was still the worst med I’ve been on. When I finally started seeing a psychiatrist the first thing he told me to do was to throw my Strattera away. I was put on Adderall instead and after 2 weeks was switched to Vyvanse. Had some weird side effects with Vyvanse so was put back on Adderall and since then I’ve dumped every single drug I’ve ever been on previously. No more Ativan, no more Seroquel, no more lamotrogine (though I was on this stabilizer with my Addy for 6 months) no more Zoloft. Everyone is different, but for me and in my experience, Strattera was all wrong for me. I would definitely bring it up to your healthcare team and see if there is a different treatment.

yes, just like you are saying, everyone's body is different and reacts to the drugs in negative ways, the side effects were so unbearable that it was not worth to even continue, why feeling worse when you want to get better
