Any suggestions for better sleep and migraines?

I Started to have migraines/insomnia! This is something new to me and is truly taking a load on me. I was diagnosed with ADHD three years ago, and after going through several medications, vyvanse is the medication I decided to stick with and it helped me focus and stay on task 🧘‍♀️...I am so used to being up beat and on top of everything but ever since I started to have migraines and lack of sleep it’s been affecting my daily routine. Even with medication I can’t seem to sleep better and my migraines just seem to be numb! it truly irritates me! 😖 Does anyone have better suggestions or has gone through a familiar case?

Are you prescribed anything to assist with sleep? I have struggled with insomnia for years but I am prescribed Trazodone 50mg at night and it really works like a charm. Without it I am unable to get good quality sleep.

My doctor started me on -Topiramate 25mg, but it seems to be just for my migraines. She stated it would help with my sleep as well but it would take some time! 😏 so far, not enjoying the ride. Especially since I will soon start school again in January 🤦‍♀️ Did Trazodone give you any side effects?

None at all and it isn’t habit forming so there’s no withdrawal effects if you don’t want to take it. It’s been god sent for me because sleep is vital and my ADHD was harder to manage when I was sleep deprived. 😔 I hope you find something that works soon! 🤞🏼

Hi Alma. This is Shnookie. I have ADHD and am bipolar and have trouble sleeping to an extent and get bad headaches. I really empathize with U. If U get migraines at least 7 times a month, U might be a candidate for Botox. It freezes the muscles that cause the pain and works for a long period. If U have PPO insurance it will cover this. There is Imatrex a pill that U can take when U feel the pain is starting to come onDo not laugh but Serena Williams and Kylie Kardashian R on commercials for migraine meds they take. Reflexology works with the

specialist touching pressuring points now with COVID I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ if it’s allowed. Regarding helping U go to sleep 😴 there is the anti-anxiety Med Clonozapem. U need to take this every day. U can’t just go off this pill or U will be very sick and go into withdrawal symptoms. This happened to me last Thanksgiving - I had an issue with my pharmacy and I became ill. Ask your

Doctor about Tryptophane or warm milk for sleep as well. I’m here 4 U

Hugs 🤗 Shnookie

I’m also taking Sumatriptan 50mg for my migraines. Per doctors orders she wants me to take this medication once I feel my migraine coming, the only thing with this medication is that it causes me to have nausea and makes me a little loopy! Definitely considering Botox!! I heard they do wonders. I do have a PPO Plan but my doctor wants to see if this works first and if it doesn’t then will take the next route. Which I think I’m just going to go through my insurance and see a specialist to get Botox! Because pills seem to be working slowly and I don’t have time, with my schedule I need something long lasting. I was able to get some sleep last night, did notice a little bit of difference! Thanks for the support! Truly appreciate it! 🤍

Of course. The purpose of this group is to support each other and give each other tips and advice if they R appropriate.

Years ago people would receive morphine

drips for their migraines. Good luck with

your studies.

Magnesium!! 100%. But it needs to be bioavailable forms. Look specifically into magnesium glycinate and magnesium tauratate.

My doc just sent me this podcast yesterday: drhyman.com/blog/2020/12/11...

It’s worth a listen. Definitely look into magnesium, too. My migraines have been greatly reduced in frequency and severity since she had me start supplementing with magnesium glycinate. It also helps with relaxation, so it’s good for sleep, anxiety, etc.
