I'm here to find help and support for my adult daughter who was diagnosed with ADHD in high school about 10 years ago. She saw her psychiatrist for four, maybe five years, once a month and he prescribed Vyvanse and Adderall. This past summer he died unexpectedly. She did not get her records from him by a deadline in a letter she received. We had moved an hour away from him but she still traveled to him every month. She is struggling to find a new psychiatrist like him and establish trust again. She tried a new psychiatrist recently and was asked to give a urine test at her first appointment. She complied and passed but the psychiatrist still said she would not prescribe stimulants, only Wellbutrin, which my daughter has never taken. I'm just here to share this struggle and ask if anyone else has overcome the loss of a physician who trusts you?

Personally, if my new doctor decided to pull my meds that were working, I'd be looking for another provider, even if you have to travel to see them. There is absolutely no reason to be swapping a stimulant for an anti-depressant, especially when the stimulant is working.
I'm not a provider, but honestly, I'd do whatever you could to advocate for her, and get her to advocate for herself when it comes to this.
