Hello everybody,
I was wondering if others who have tried both Vyvanse and adderall before and which one did they prefer and why
I'm one of those who likes to be in control of the medication I take. I mainly use meds to help with my dyslexia because it slows my brain down and really makes a difference. I have tried almost everything and Vyvanse was one I hated. It would drop out when I seemed to need it most. Like I could feel it kick in when I was sitting around but if I was trying to accomplish something I would get sluggish. I hate all time release for this reason. Finally, I started taking Adderall instant in different increments throughout the day. 10mg in the morning 10 after lunch 10mg at 3pm. PERFECT. It is steady & I have it down so that I get hungry & tired at the proper times but don't zone out when I still need to be productive. I won't use anything else.
It unfortunately is a scenario that you have to just try and fail try and fail until you figure something out. Everyone is different. This is what works for me but it may be a nightmare for you.
GOOD LUCK
I've used adderall for 30 years, and love it. Just avoid the time-release version, and you can adjust the simple pills, each one gives you about 4 hours, so time it - morning, after lunch, and later.
For other inquiries about meds, try askapatient.com - but screen the info carefully. If someone has been taking a certain med for two days, ignore it. And see what else they've been taking, combinations can modify anything.
Thanks you for your post!!!!! I started taking Adderall 2 months ago, 10 mg. in the morning. I try to do most of my work in that 4 hours. I am very afraid about this medicine because I think it will be very dangerous for my brain. (Yes, that is I think about it) I am a self employee doing Income Taxes and Accounting in my house, (I cant work in a office , I couldn't focus) I didn't want to take medicine, but my professional and personal life was a disaster. I decided go to the Doctor bec I had a hard time getting my work done and I had everything late. I was very anxious about all this. But your post bring me hope and now I feel more relax about this medicine due to the time you have been taken it.
Yeah, 30 years with no bad effects, only benefits. No cancer or any problems. I think pharmaceutically, it's a very safe medicine. Read up on it if you're worried, but millions of people have taken it for decades. The only problem is those who like it too much and abuse it.
Hi metaphor, thank you for the reply, I can’t remember what exactly my post said but I was on adderall for 16yrs. The problem I have had was I increased my dose too much and instead of it working the way it’s supposed to I was basically getting high. That was hard for me to admit. Now I’m on vyvanse and I think it’s doing its job and I have no urge to take more. I’m managing my life the best I can. I’m not as motivated as I was when I was on adderall but maybe this is what sober feels like. Thanks for sharing
I switched to vyvanse because I got to a point I was taking too high of a dose and It was no longer helping me. I’m glad to hear you’re on a low dose. I started on 20mg and for a few years I stayed at that dose wish I never asked to increase it. But moving forward in now on vyvanse and I don’t have any urge to take more and I’m feeling like my normal self not perfect never will be accepted it and doing what I can
