Adderall & acne?

I recently tried my first stimulant, Adderall. About 10 days in (not even taking it daily) my face broke out like a teenager's. I'm in my 40's and deal with the occasional breakout, but this was different. There were pimples in my ears, eyebrows, around my mouth, on my cheeks. I counted 15! pimples with heads on the bridge of my nose. You get the idea. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if my cortisol levels shot through the roof on a stimulant. It helped with focus and production, but as vain as it sounds, I cannot deal with that level of acne. Sorry, it was bad enough as a teen...I'm over it!

Talk to your Dr. you might have a reaction to your medication. I haven't had that problem with Adderall with breaking out.

That's strange. I would stop taking it until you see your Dr.

She said she'd never had a patient with a similar complaint and told me to stop taking it if I didn't like the skin issues. We're working on adjusting other medications right now, so I agreed, but I'd like to try another ahdh medication eventually.

How is it working out? I'm 39, just took adderall for the first time yesterday and have 2 small dots of acne today even though I never had acne as a teen/in my life.

Hi there. How is your skin now that it has been 11 months? Did you end up getting breakouts from it?
