What’s the best way to get off stims?

Out of curiosity, what stimulant do you want to get off of and why do you want to stop taking it? This is probably a question your dr. would be happy to answer for you.

Are you are having a hard time stopping? When I've decided to take a break ...I just stop. It takes 1-2 weeks to get back to normal but after that you shouldn't have any problems. What are you talking?

I need help too.. I will take breaks for several weeks but always come back and relapse hard usually taking three times the recommended dose of Adderall for several days at a time. Then I’ll flush the rest and be normal for the rest of the month until I can fill the new prescription. I’m afraid to go off completely because I know my work suffers when I’m not medicated. But when I’m taking them I hide it from friends and family, so I know there’s a problem. Sorry, I didn’t mean to hijack your thread, I guess I’m wondering if we’re taking the same stims? Maybe we can find ways to quit together?

I asked my doctor to write my scripts as weekly that way has made it so I don’t screw up too badly, I have only gone now two days off medication instead of 1-2 weeks like before when I got monthly scripts. I don’t go through the ups and downs anymore more. I’m a lot more regular and I’m very happy

Also, I noticed that any exercise with it helps.
