I am trying to find out where to go to get diagnose. I am 42 years old from Houston Texas. Do I need to go to my family doctor to get evaluated or do I have to go to a psychiatry, or Neurology doctor?
Thank you!

Talk to your General Practitioner and be able to educate them a little bit.
GP not needed, but a good idea that they know ... you'll need them for proscriptions and guidance and friendship!
There is a strong network of couches ... " adhdcoaches.org/find-a-coach/ "
Good Luck!
From past experience, I would say to go with someone with experience in treating ADHD and if possible get recommendations from others. The level of care seems to vary greatly between medical professionals. I have encountered everything from medical professionals who had no issues with prescribing ADHD medications to medical professionals who have told me outright that they would not prescribe Ritalin. The primary issues have been disinformation put out by those with ulterior motives and the crackdown on Opioid medications that unfortunately have the same classification (i.e. Schedule 2 medications) as the primary medications used to treat ADHD.
Here is some of the advice from CHADD regarding Adult ADHD.

Quick overview of Medication management for treatment of ADHD:
GP's usually know a Psychiatrist that has experience with ADHD. If not I have found that phychologytoday.com has good resources. An APRN can diagnose and provide medication management also. A Psychiatrist or APRN are really good resources for medication if that is what you are looking for. Many times a coach or therapist can help with life issues on top of medication as well.
