My 8 yo daughter was diagnosed with ADHD last year. After a several month wait due to insurance and availability limitations, she is now in therapy and I think it will be very helpful for her. She continues to struggle in school. I hoping to avoid medication if I can, but I also know it will be some time before she is able to employ the skills she is learning in therapy to help herself stay focused. Her therapist, who is trained in EMDR has recommended I get her some Touchpoint wristbands (TheTouchpointSolution.com) to help her focus and stay calm. The therapist has seen a lot of success using these devices with other patients.
Has anyone on this forum had experience with Touchpoint wristbands? Have they been helpful? There are limited and mixed reviews available online. I'm willing to try any solutions that might work for my daughter, but I don't want to throw away money on something that may not work.
On a separate note, this is my first post to this forum. I have read many of the threads and gotten a lot of good insights. Thanks to everyone on here for providing their experiences and advice.

While I don't have experience with touchpoint product I personally have an Apollo see apolloneuro.com/products/ap... I see it's more expensive than the touchpoint. I find my Apollo relaxing but I haven't tried it much for focus. I hope to try it on my son one day but he tends to break things. I would say trying out the touchpoint it might help. It might come down to cost and how you might feel if it ends up broken.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve seen the Apollo Neuro, too. Those are definitely more expensive and don’t have the binary system, but sound more reliable. I’m going to try the Touchpoints, but plan to return them if I don’t see some results within the first weeks of use.
The Monarch ETNS sounds fascinating. I’m going to look into it more. I’ll reply on this thread again if I ended up pursuing this.
I tried touchpoint for my daughter and me. It didn’t seem to work for us. Basically it is supposed to just do pressure to help you stayin the moment. Similar options is a rubber band on the wrist, face/body tapping (emdr tactic) and an ice cube on the skin.
Although these mindfulness tactics are nice, having the medications so I can choose to use them has also been beneficial.
